[edit] Lost Items Mini Quest
There are two sets of 'lost and found' or 'lost item' side quests which consist or [surprisingly enough] finding lost items around Hogwarts grounds for students, they start off with some clues and end up being just general like 'could be anywhere'. These quests reward the Harry with wizard cards, beans and house points :) Beware, a lot of loading screens await you on this quest as it involves a lot of to- and fro-ing between the common room and the outside world. Also, all the items must be collected and returned in this order or the next item will not be there. [sorry no way around this one!]
[from the 3rd item onwards your nimbus 2000 will be needed]
[edit] Notice Board
In the Gryffindor common room there is a notice board to the right as you walk in if you press x as you stand in front of it it will bring up a lost item notice with a 'clue' although these become progressively more vague with each item such as 'could be anywhere'. The item in question could be somewhere outside [or on top of] the Hogwarts buildings. Don't worry about a time limit - there isn't one so you can take as long as you like to find the item and you can carry the found item as long as you like - so no pressure.
[edit] Potion Vial Case
As you come out of Hogwarts main hall go through the tunnel straight ahead of you and go towards [but not into] the Herbology greenhouse. As you come to the gate way go right along the wall and follow it until it reaches Hogwarts main outer wall and gate from the forbidden forest in the left-hand corner there are bushes, in front of these bushes is an item with yellow sparkles around it pick it up. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will award you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Merit Badge
Read the notice board now you're after the badge now. Remember where Mme Hooch is in the flying practice courtyard? Go towards her. [out of the hall turn left onto the brick patch through the cloisters and go straight forward until theres a tunnel to your right go through and there she is] turn towards the tunnel you've just traveled through and follow the wall to the left and you'll eventually see the badge sparking in the of the walls. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will award you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Telescope
Read the notice board - you're after the telescope some clumsy student has dropped while flying. This one isn't too far, as you come out of the main hall pop yourself on your broom and fly up to the roof of the main hall and there in a large clearing on the roof will be the telescope. Land on the roof and pick up the item. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will award you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Neville's Toad
Neville is always loosing things as you will find in this quest. Trevor [his toad]is where the potion vial case was when you get there he'll be hopping about and you won't be able to pick him up so just aim [L1/R1] and Flippendo him this will knock him out so you can pick him up safely. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful Neville will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Measuring Scales
Measuring Scales, well, these are between Hagrid's cabin/hut and the wall to the forbidden forest, they will be larger than most of the lost items so should be relatively easy to spot. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful Neville will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Wizard's Hat
Between Hogwarts and the Quidditch Stadium theres a small copse of trees seemingly in the middle of nowhere, In the center of these trees is the hat you are looking for pick it up. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Dragon Hide Gloves
For these gloves, you need to go to the confiscated items store room. For those who don't know where this is, its towards the flying practice field, continue through the tunnel straight in front of you as you enter the field and you should find yourself on a bridge, the door in front is locked. Now if you mount your broom and fly to your right [towards the lake] on the left below you is a green field where you should espy a sparkly lost item, land, pick it up. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Gadding with Ghouls
If you go back to the afore mentioned bridge to the confiscated items storeroom but in stead mount your broom with your back to the store room and fly diagonally forward/right you will see a square of green with a lonely tree in it. In one corner you'll see the book, fly down and retrieve it :). Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Holidays with Hags
This book is the penultimate item, you need to exit the great hall and go through the tunnel to the grounds as you come out of the tunnel turn right and follow the wall round until you see the book sparkling innocently in a corner. Now return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful student will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
[edit] Tarantula
Lee Jordan's tarantula has gone missing, so head off towards Hagrid's hut go immediately to the forbidden forest wall behind the hut follow the wall to the right until you see a small gap in the wall [crawl through this by pressing x] aim and Flippendo that spider sparkling and crawling about in the small paved area. It may take a couple of hits [don't worry about hitting him too hard he won't die!] then pocket him then return to the Gryffindor common room notice board that will trigger a cut scene where a grateful Lee Jordan will reward you with a wizarding card and 10hp.
When you look at the board next and theres nothing there.. is this the end? no I'm afraid, but the next challenges are a lot more rewarding.
