When Sora drops onto the world, he sees two familiar figures: Mickey and the Spellican from his second visit to Traverse Town. Apparently, it is now causing trouble in this world, and it's Sora's job to stop it. After the scene, you can view a Flashback (The Sorcerer's Apprentice) and are now in the Chamber of Yen Sid's tower with a sleeping Mickey. There's also a Save Point and a Moogle Shop here, which you should take advantage of before moving on.

Leave the room through the sole door. Underneath the staircase here is a Dream Candy. Exit the tower through the large double doors. To the left of the entrance is an Elixir. Continue forward from here and you should see a chest to the side containing Block-it Chocolate 3. Defeat any Nightmares that spawn and head back up to the Chamber. Examine the sheet music that Mickey summoned to enter the musical realm.

Cloudwalk[edit]

Move forward and take care of the large group of Nightmares that spawn. Jump up to the vase with a musical note above it and press A button + X button to enter Reality Shift. For the single notes, tap them as the circle closes in on them with the stylus. For the double notes, start holding them with the stylus as the circle closes in on them and follow them on the path. If you've cleared enough notes with a good rating, rainbows will form out of the clouds which Sora can use Flowmotion to glide on. Follow them up to the chest containing Glide and jump into the rocky trench to continue on to a new set of clouds.

If you look ahead, you should see a chest on a high cloud in the distance. Use Flowmotion to get to it and open it for Treasure Goggles. Drop down to face another group of Nightmares. On the step-like clouds here there's an Ice Dream Cone 3. Continue up. Where you see a small gap between clouds, Sora can use Flowmotion to slide through them and into a new area. Take out the Nightmares and, if you're feeling impatient, use Flowmotion to get up to a high cloud to the left of where you entered for an Intrepid Fantasy. Drop down and continue forward up to the next vase. Before utilizing Reality Shift once again, drop off the other side. A small group of Nightmares will spawn, but you should see a chest on the steps leading back up to where you dropped up. Open it for a Mega-Potion. Activate Reality Shift and use the rainbows to continue on. On the first cloud, turn until you see a trench with some high clouds in between it. Flowmotion to it to find two chests: one containing an Elixir and the other containing Paint Gun: White x10. Before exiting to the next area, turn right on the final cloud. Use the rainbow to get to a large chest containing Prism Windmill. Continue to the Glen.

Glen and Fields[edit]

Drop off and float right. You should reach a purple platform where a group of Nightmares will spawn. Open the chest for Tornado. Float to the opposite direction (be wary of the lightning here) until you reach the platform where you can perform Reality Shift on the vase. The winds will stop and Sora can now drop down to the ground. Some Nightmares should spawn. In the corner here is an Ice Dream Cone 3. Move toward the other side of the map. At the fork, go right. On a ledge in the pink area is a Mega-Potion. Keep moving toward the end of the map and use the small tornado to get to the tunnel. Move through it to the next area. Head down the path and use Flowmotion to get to a visible ledge holding a Royal Cake. At the end of the path are some steps leading to the Fields. Use Flowmotion on the right wall to find another ledge, this one holding an Intrepid Fantasy. Now save and head to the Fields.

Move forward and the sky will become stormy. Follow the orange path left to a chest containing Block-it Chocolate 3, and try to defeat all of the Nightmares that spawn. Turn around and you should spot a glowing musical note on a ledge. Head to it and perform Reality Shift for the skies to clear up. Look past the rock formation on this ledge to a rock wall. Use Flowmotion to get to a ledge up above for an Electricorn Recipe. Follow this wall back to the entrance until it ends, in which case you can head to the other side of it into a path which leads to an Epic Fantasy. Follow the orange path again, this time to a new area. The skies will once again become stormy. Follow the right wall to a Mega-Potion. Up ahead you should spot a ledge; use Flowmotion to get to a Panacea. Jump up to the next ledge and turn back to see a music note. All it takes is one Reality Shift to clear the skies up once again. Head to the opposite side of the map where you should see two paths surrounded by rock. Take the left one to a large chest containing Triple Plasma, then the other to sheet music and a scene.

Boss: Spellican[edit]

Before the battle, Sora obtains Double Impact. Sort your Command Deck to include Cure spells and powerful attacks, such as Sonic Blade and the recently-obtained Triple Plasma. Keep in mind that Zero Gravity and Sleep will have no effect on the Spellican, so at this point it's best to leave them out of your deck. Save and examine the red sheet music once you're ready.

The battle begins with a chase. Sora is gliding on a starry path and has to catch up to the Spellican before he can begin his attack. Press Y button to move faster, and jump whenever the Spellican throws purple spheres or asteroids in your path. Once you catch it, you will both be transported to a new area; a large, plain white arena with rock formations all around. The Spellican attacks continuously, and teleports otherwise. One of its attacks involves it summoning a group of stars and throwing them in Sora's direction. If you utilize Flowmotion, this isn't particularly difficult to dodge. One of its more challenging attacks involves it moving around its wand as it emits a harmful laser, often in sporadic directions. This one is a bit more unpredictable, but you can always use a Cure spell once this attack concludes. Sonic Blade becomes especially useful in this battle, as Sora can pinpoint the Spellican's location wherever it moves and cause a significant amount of damage in the process. Lastly, don't forget to Link with your Spirits, as any invincibility they have to offer you can certainly come in handy.

Once enough of its health bars are depleted, the Spellican will transport Sora back to the chase scene. Repeat the drill to continue your offense back in the arena. Once you defeat the Spellican, your max HP will increase and you will obtain the Counterpoint Keyblade. If you haven't completed this world with Riku yet, drop back to him; to unlock the next world, both Sora and Riku must complete all currently available worlds.

Riku[edit]

Riku lands in the entrance of Yen Sid's tower. Beneath the stairs is Water Barrel. Head outside and defeat the Nightmares. As in Sora's story, there's a chest to the left containing Dream Candy and one up ahead containing a Royal Cake. Return to the Tower Entrance and go up the flooding staircase into the Chamber, where Mickey is sleeping. After the scene, you can view a Flashback (A Magical Mishap), save at the Save Point, and shop at the Moogle Shop. Examine the blue sheet music to enter the musical realm.

Moonlight Wood and Golden Wood[edit]

In the clearing, a group of Nightmares will spawn. There are also some treasures to obtain here; by the right wall is a Shield Cookie 3 and at the foot of the ledge that holds a music note is a Mega-Potion. Activate Reality Shift with A button + X button on the music note and follow the prompts. When the circle closes in on a single note, tap it with the stylus, and when a circle closes in on a double note, hold it as it slides down the path. Use the flowers as steps to the next area. A small group of Nightmares should attack. Use Flowmotion to climb up the tree in front of you to a ledge holding Zero Graviza. Drop back down and move forward to see a visible chest containing Confetti Candy 3. Use Flowmotion on this wall to reach a ledge to the left. Defeat the Nightmares and open the chest for an Intrepid Fancy. Drop back down and exit through the tunnel. At the end of the path is a Drop-Me-Not. Follow the flowers and ledges up to Paint Gun: Green x10 and another music note. Use Reality Shift and move on to the Golden Wood.

Save at the Save Point and head off to the right. A chest here contains Paint Gun: Red x10. There's a curved tree trunk off to the other side that's large enough for Riku to go under. Head on top of it to find an Elixir. Head to the ledge with the music note on it, and find the mushroom here. Use it to bounce up to a leaf where you should find an Intrepid Fantasy. Use Reality Shift on the music note and follow the path of newly-opened leaves. Before gliding up the branch leading to the exit, turn right and take note of a tree branch which Riku can use Flowmotion on to reach another ledge. Open the large chest for a Ryu Dragon Recipe and continue back on the path. Snag the Mega-Potion by the exit before leaving to the Snowgleam Wood.

Snowgleam Wood[edit]

Upon entering this area, a group of ice-related Nightmares will spawn. Defeat them and swim out to the island to perform Reality Shift. Some more Nightmares should spawn following this. Glide on the snowy rail that appears, but hop off partway through for Block-it Chocolate 3. Continue forward into the tunnel until the path ends. A visible chest here contains a Dulcet Fancy. Drop down, defeat the Nightmares, swim out to the island, and enter Reality Shift. Use Flowmotion on the icicle to the left to swing over to an island to the far west. Open the chest for some Treasure Goggles. Return to the previous island and use Flowmotion to climb up the wall to the right. A couple of Nightmares will spawn on a ledge holding Ice Barrage. Take note of the snowflakes floating around. Use them to get to the area across.

Glide on the rail to an area where some Nightmares will spawn. Defeat them and open the chest for an Ice Dream Cone 3. Return, drop back down, and continue forward. Save at the Save Point and open the chest for a Confetti Candy 3. Head toward the sheet music for a scene leading into a boss battle.

Boss: Chernabog[edit]

This boss battle plays out more like a dive, with only two important actions: A button to perform a basic attack and Y button to dodge or deflect. The latter holds the most significance here, as Riku will really only need to perform three attacks. The goal for most of this battle is to reach Chernabog to be able to attack, and with no Potions or Cure spells, it will require a large amount of dodging. Firstly, Chernabog can summon beams of lava to rise up and get in Riku's way. These can be dodged by moving in between them, from side to side. He may perform an attack in which he sends fiery boulders aimed at Riku at the same time; these can also be dodged easily, by simply dodging right before they home in on their target.

Once Riku lands the first attack, effectively taking away one of Chernabog's health bars, he'll begin to utilize a new attack. This attack involves sending cloaked figures toward Riku; if they latch on to him, they can steal his health. Dodging is, once again, the most effective action in this case. If you can't get the timing right, move around continuously so that they can't get a grip. If they do manage to latch, dodge around to shake them off quickly. Land all three hits on Chernabog to complete this easy battle, increasing Riku's max HP and deck capacity. After the scene, you obtain the Counterpoint Keyblade along with the ability to move on to the next world (but only if Sora has completed all currently available worlds as well).
