Kotoba no Puzzle: Mojipittan (ことばのパズル・もじぴったん, lit. Kotoba no Pazuru Mojipittan) is a puzzle arcade game that was released by Namco in 2001 only in Japan; it runs on that company's System 10 hardware and a knowledge of the Japanese Hiragana syllabic writing system is essential if you wish to succeed in it. Players must use a 4-way joystick (and three buttons) to pick a Hiragana character from their racks and place it in a square on the playfield to make a Japanese word - and if they can create more than one word through the placement of a single character they will get a high score in "Rensa". In the single-player mode, the Easy Course is comprised of five stages, while the Normal Course is comprised of six; the player has to meet the quotas for each stage to clear them, and the quotas are not just the number of words, as the player must make fixed words in one stage. In the two-player mode, both players must try to fill more squares than their opponent, and if one of them uses the other's characters to create another word, the other player's squares shall change to their colour (Player 1's squares are yellow while Player 2's are blue) - and the first player to win two matches will be victorious overall. At the end of a run, the game will diagnose a player's personality based on the words they made; for the two-player mode, it will diagnose both players' compatibility.
