This time, instead of getting your case in the briefing room, your partner will get a call from the captain informing him of a new murder. It's a similar M.O. to the last case, but Rusty doesn't want to make any assumptions until he has all the evidence.

Crime Scene[edit]

The captain is already at the scene talking to the reporters about a possible connection between this murder and the murder of Celine Henry. He denies any ties between the two but ensures them you and your partner will find the culprit. Talk to Gonzales and he'll show you to the body, where you can search for clues and talk to the coroner.

Since you're worried about his daughter, you'll tell Moller to come down to the police station instead of just arresting him on the spot. There are some things you'll have to check out before you're 100% certain about the case anyway. Outside, a neighbor from across the street will call you over and tell you that Moller was putting something in his incinerator last night. Right afterwards you'll see Moller doing it again and when you try to stop him he'll run. Chase him down and tackle him if you get the chance to make it quick. When you get back, look in the incinerator and you'll find some bloody shoes.

After you send Moller downtown, use the gamewell on the street to get an address for the high school. You'll also get a call over the radio that the coroner has some new information for you.

Central Morgue[edit]

Curruthers has determined that the cause of death was strangulation and he has some rope samples for you to match up with the pattern on the victim's neck. Just hold each piece of rope up to the picture until you find the right one. You should also check the plaster bootprint mold and tap the "8" in it and look at the body before you leave. Use a gamewell to check your messages and you'll find out that Mrs. Moller's car was found at the high school.

Belmont High School[edit]

The janitor will tell you someone parked Mrs. Moller's car in the lot after midnight, but he didn't get a good look at the driver because it was so dark. They've been having problems with a child molester at the school, so he's been keeping a good watch lately. In the middle of talking to the janitor, he'll spot the child molester and you'll need to chase him down. If you don't tackle him, you'll have to fight him when your partner cuts him off. When you catch him, you'll find out he has the Butterfly brooch in his pocket and you'll send him downtown. Investigate Mrs. Moller's car before going back to the station to interview your suspects. You'll find all three of the clues in her trunk, after which you can use a gamewell to set up the interrogations for you.

Central Police Station[edit]

You have two suspects in custody and you'll have to charge one of them. You can interview them both, but at some point you need accuse one and let the other one go. You can do it in any order, and your decision does matter. Whichever suspect you think is guilty, you'll need to choose Rooney instead of Moller if you want to stay on your captain's good side and if you want to close the case with a Valorous rating.
