Area 1[edit]

Only a few jumps down, and you find a new enemy - the Catoblepas. It will make a few flaps forward, before attacking with a quick forward movement.

On the street level, the second new monster appears - the Haniver. This one will pop out from the ground, and shoot a projectile. Although stationary, it requires two hits to defeat.

Continue to the right. When you reach the orange building, some golf balls will bounce in from behind. These are indestructible, and need to be jumped over.

The hydra appears once you reach the fire hydrant. This monster will swoop in just in front of you, then make a ranged attack. It's weakness is that it generally pauses in range of your attack.

Area 2[edit]

After a long fall, you can enter a corridor with sewage flows in the background. The pipes providing these flows will deposit Charon. He will simply advance, but takes two hits to defeat. Additionally, the pipes tend to make two deposits in rapid succession, thus you need to time your jump between the batch.

Around the second pipe, one charon will approach from the left. This is the only special handling in the first sewer section.

In the seocnd half, there will be a sewage in the background, where tritons will leap from the background and attack. They are easily handled until you reach the can.

When you jump on the can, it will slowly float to the right. Here, tritons can be a threat as they can knock you into the sewage, costing a life rather than just inflicting damage. To be safe, avoid having your back to the closest edge of the can.

The tritons launch in the following pattern:

  • 1 from the left.
  • 1 from the right, 1 from the left.
  • 1 from the right, 1 from the left.
  • 1 from the left, 1 from the right.
  • 1 from the right.
  • 1 from the right, 1 from the left.

The end of the travel has a heart in a jar.

Boss[edit]

The Kraken

The boss is the Kraken. He first signals his arrival by splashes on the right and left of his attack area. He rises, first with the tentacles. When they lower, you should be able to land two hits before having to jump away to avoid the tentacles. When they lower the second time, the Kraken will also retreat, allowing you to get the final attacks.

If you attack from the left, you can generally get 4 safe attacks in before he retreats. If you attack from the right, you can get 6 attacks instead. If you're willing to take damage, you might also get additional hits in, although this could be a risky tactic.

The Kraken must be hit 33 times before being defeated.
