Tazmily Village[edit]

Treasure in Tazmily Village
Found Container Location Hypno Pendulum (skill) Present Wess' basement
Tickle Stick (skill) Present Wess' basement
Scary Mask (skill) Present Wess' basement
Smoke Bomb (skill) Present Wess' basement
Siren Beetle (skill) Present Wess' basement
Beef Jerky Present Nippolyte's shack
Peculiar Cheese Present Nippolyte's shack

Duster is given a mission by his father Wess to infiltrate Osohe Castle and steal an item. After he finishes speaking, head down the stairs to the left and pick up five more Mystical Thief Tools to add to your collection; the Wall Staples from the previous chapter are still there. When you leave the house, head around the left side and behind it to open a Present; it periodically refills with items. Head towards the village square to the west. You can speak with Mapson on the bridge to mark Osohe Castle on the map. He also mentions that the drawbridge is up, but that Nippolyte may know something about an underground passage.

As it is nighttime, many of the houses are locked. The Yado Inn is still open and has a room to sleep and another room with a Save Frog. Head north to leave the square and you will run into an unnamed man and a monkey; they head to Yado Inn and occupy the middle room that you will not be able to enter. Continuing onwards leads Butch to show Duster a bag of money he received which he hides in the village well. Interacting with the well will reveal 50,000 DP that Duster puts back.

Entering Cross Road triggers a cutscene. When it ends, head north into Sunset Cemetery where zombies accost Duster and throw him into a battle. If you received a Thunder Bomb from the back of the house, use it to kill off the Zombie Ladies and severely weaken the Zombie Guys. When the battle ends head to Yado Inn to heal up. Return to the Cemetery and head up to Osohe Castle. The drawbridge is up, so head back to the Cemetery. On the way back Duster is stopped by an ant that teaches him how to use timed hits. For more information see Battles.

When you return to the Cemetery you see Nippolyte enter the shack. Follow him and go down the stairs inside. Pick up the Beef Jerky and Peculiar Cheese from the Presents and talk to the Save Frog. Position Duster on the left side of the bookshelf and hold Right dpad to move it.

The path here is straightforward and leads to a ladder. Pick up a Running Bomb and some Nut Bread from Presents on the way. Go up the ladder to find yourself in Osohe Castle.

Talk to Nippolyte who tells you that the gate is locked and that you would need to climb the walls to get in. Head straight up from the passage entrance and interact with the strip of wall that is lighter in color. Duster creates a Wall Staple ladder up to the third floor. Attempting to enter the open doorway triggers another conversation with the ant from earlier about timed hits.

Head through the left door to pick up a Rotten Milk. Your way here is blocked so return to the previous room and dash into the statue to make it drop the ball it is holding. The ball will create a hole in the ground that you can take to 2F. You can scale back up the wall with Wall Staples at any time. Do not open the Present in this room as a Stinky Ghost will pop up and inflict Duster with Nausea. Enter the door and go down the stairs to pick up a Fresh Mint.

Go down another flight of stairs to reach the main floor. You can unlock the castle gate here to create a shortcut. Head into the left room to find a Save Frog and a Present holding a Fresh Mint. You can head downstairs to a room with a hot spring to restore HP. Return to the main lobby and head up through the doors.

There are four doors here. The middle door leads to the Ghost Bazaar which trades items for any Rotten Eclairs you may have in your possession. Possible items include the Rope Snake (1 Eclair), a Fresh Mint (1 Eclair), and Beef Jerky (2 Eclairs). The one directly to the left of the Bazaar has a Present containing the Battle Memory, which lets you relive enemy battles to get the timing when attacking them. The one to the right of the Bazaar has two Presents that contain Rotten Milk and Beef Jerky. A ladder leads into an underground passage blocked by a stone face and depictions of dances drawn on the wall. The door on the left takes Duster upstairs.

Go into the first room to pick up a Chick Bandana; the fireplace here returns you to the room with the Save Frog before the hot spring. The room on the right leads into a banquet room. Talking to the ghost on the far right will give you a Rotten Eclair each time you enter the room. There is a kitchen to the southeast that has a map of the area in the blue Present. Interacting with the moving jar on the table starts a fight with a Strawberry Jam. Interact with the differently colored section of the wall to scale it with Wall Staples. On the next floor, go through the east doorway to pick up two previously inaccessible Presents. The one next to the rubble and below the other one contains a Stinky Ghost that gives Duster nausea, while the other contains an Aquarius Bracelet.

Return back to the room with the gap and cross it with the Rope Snake. A friendly ghost guards the door to a tough enemy. Enter it and pick up Durable Shoes from the Present in the corner. Defeating the Ghost Sword and the Ghost Shield before engaging the Ghost Knight makes its fight much easier. Enter the room to the west to see someone break in and rush ahead of you. Talk to the Save Frog before moving on. Pick up the pendant that dropped by the door before exiting.

Head through the corridors until you get to the end to find a ghost conductor. Tell him that you do not wish to listen to him and he will start a boss fight with you.

Boss Battle: Mr. Passion
Offense: , Defense: Speed: , Guts:
HP: 630, PP: 0
Stock up on as many Beef Jerkies as you can. The first thing Duster should try doing is to debuff Mr. Passion. Throw a Smoke Bomb to make Mr. Passion cry and reduce his accuracy and use the Hypno Pendulum whenever you can to stop the number of attacks and hear his heartbeat to make timed hits. Even with the reduction attacks connect rather frequently and heavily, so heal up with Beef Jerkies whenever Duster's health starts running low. When Mr. Passion takes enough damage he "becomes more exuberant" which increases his Offense.

Wess in battle
Wess can attack throw items like Thunder Bombs to attack enemies with moderate damage. He occasionally uses a Secret Art Technique to deal heavy damage.

Talk to the mouse to "feel something warm in your heart". You can use the sofa with the blue cushions to restore your HP. Enter the door to pick up the treasure: the Noble Spittoon. Head back to the previous room and interact with the fireplace to drop back down to the first floor. Exit the castle and talk to Nippolyte who gives Duster the Drawbridge Key. Go back to the drawbridge and lower it. Head back to Wess' house east of the village square; you can pick up a Flea Charm at Thomas' Bazaar if you like. Talk to Wess who will destroy the Spittoon, joins your party as a non-playable character, and demands you return to Osohe Castle. On the way you see the Pig Army invade. Go all the way back into the Castle to start a boss fight.

Boss Battle: Clayman
Offense: , Defense: Speed: , Guts:
HP: 879, PP: 0
This enemy hits hard, so use a Smoke Bomb and Hypno Pendulum whenever you can to reduce the number of attacks that hit. Keep attacking and keep your health up with any restorative items you may still have in the inventory. The Clayman can "crush Duster with all its might", which does heavy damage but also prevents it from acting for 2 turns.

Kumatora basics
Kumatora is the first party member who is able to use PSI abilities. She starts off with PSI Freeze α, which damages 1 enemy and can sometimes solidify it, and PSI Fire α, which damages all enemies and can sometimes burn them.
PSI fevers
PSI users can get fevers, which prevents the party from dashing but also gives them a new PSI ability when it clears. It goes away after walking a set distance.

When it is defeated, retrace your steps back to the top of the castle. Rest on the sofa before entering the room where the Spittoon was. Enter the room and interact with the stone face on the wall. Wess will perform a dance that opens it. Talk to the Save Frog before continuing. A cutscene triggers where Duster and Wess meet up with Kumatora, who joins the party as a controllable character. Continue up the passageway and pick up the Flea Charm in the Present and talk to the Save Frog. Pick up the Magic Gelatin from the Present on 7F. On the next floor there are brooms that will sweep the party into the trash bin past the stone face. The two Presents here contain a Sprinting Bomb and Beef Jerky. Go up to the next floor to get a Magic Tart in the Present. Enter the door and grab the Egg of Light, which causes the party to plummet to the next boss fight.

Boss Battle: Oh-So-Snake
Offense: , Defense: Speed: , Guts:
HP: 1237, PP: 0
Disable the boss whenever you can with Wall Staples and Smoke Bombs. Kumatora should try and use PSI Thunder α or PSI Freeze α as much as she can. Keep their health up; the Snake can sometimes summon a tidal wave that deals heavy damage to the both of them but causes it to be unable to attack for 2 turns.
Exp: 568, Money: N/A, Item: N/A

After the battle the party is thrown out of Osohe Castle and drifts back to shore in Tazmily Village. Duster is missing from the party and Kumatora takes lead.

Tazmily Village[edit]

Head west into the village square where Butch accuses Duster and Wess of stealing his money from the well. After Flint intervenes, the chapter ends.
