Part 1[edit]

MG Stage 4-1.png
  • In the first part of this stage, Ninjas will run towards Goemon from both sides of the screen; there are also two Otafuku Masks, a Fan, three Peaches, two Maneki Neko, two Type 2 Omamori and a Tea Gourd that he can pick up and throw at them (but if he should strike the first Maneki Neko with his Kiseru it will be transformed into a Golden Mallet that he can collect for temporary invulnerability). Also, if he pushes the barrel in front of the seventh Buddha statue, it will begin rolling forwards, killing any Ninjas it hits for 800 points apiece - and if he strikes the location of the koala to the right of the torii on the map above to reveal it he'll gain 4000 points. Although there are six gold chests at the midpoint, there's no village at the end of this stage.

Part 2[edit]

  • In the second part of the stage more Ninjas will run towards Goemon from both sides of the screen; three Transparent Ninjas will also always appear and throw three Shuriken throwing stars at him and there are also four more Type 2 Omamori, five more Maneki Neko (none of which shall transform into another Golden Mallet if struck), four more Otafuku Masks, a fourth Peach and two more Tea Gourds for him to pick up and throw at them, along with five open oceans for him to avoid falling into. If Goemon strikes the location of the block of flats in front of the second open ocean's warning sign on the map above to reveal it, he'll gain 6000 points - and once he reaches the boss area the music will change for the only bosses he has to defeat.

The bosses of this stage are a pair of golden Shiva statues; once they have appeared in front of Goemon, they will attack by throwing their arms at him (but will never run out of them, and without much space to run, they are again not terribly easy to avoid). As with the first and third stage's bosses, you may only kill them by picking up one of the nine regenerative Lotuses in the area and throwing it at their feet (because they will block them with their shields if you aim them anywhere else) - and they can also, once again, temporarily stun Goemon if they touch him. Once you have killed (or survived long enough against) them three times, you will notice that they have changed colour from gold to red after they come back for a fourth and final time; after you have killed them for the fourth and final time (no matter how long you happen to survive against them when they are red, they will not disappear, so you must kill them), you can proceed to Edo Castle at the end of the stage (there is also a fifth Type 2 Omamori and two more Maneki Neko for Goemon to pick up and throw just for the 100 points they'll award when picked up), jump onto its roof, and collect the Golden Lamp. The text "FINAL STAGE BONUS 10000 PTS" shall then appear on the screen as the game's ending theme gets heard, a shower of red and white confetti rains down on Goemon while he stands on one leg and grimaces to the camera and each of the game's four bosses appear at the bottom of the screen - and the game will then start again at a higher level of difficulty with more projectile-throwing enemies.
