Preload buttons[edit]

Here's what the buttons look like.

Hi, please use the preload buttons located above the edit text box when creating a new page. These buttons will insert the needed templates and formatting for you, which helps keep uniformity across the wiki. — najzereT 15:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

FFVIII pages[edit]

Hi there were some fixes that needed to be made to the card pages you started. First, we don't hotlink images, so I uploaded them to the site. You can do that from the upload page, but be sure to read our image policy first. Second, we're trying to get away from a lot of sub-subpaging, so the card pages were moved from subpages of Final Fantasy VIII/Cards, to subpages of Final Fantasy VIII. Lastly, since there was no information along with any of the cards, I put them into galleries and consolidated the pages into the four types of cards to use less space. The links on the Cards page and the Table of Contents has been updated to reflect that. Thanks for working on the guide, and let me know if you need anything. — najzereT 15:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Numbers in recent changes[edit]

The number that you see next to each edit is the number of characters (letters and/or numbers) that you added or removed from the page during your edit. The only accumulation of these numbers is the current size of the page, which can be seen by viewing the page's history. Procyon 03:50, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

A couple things[edit]

Hey, nice work on the FFVIII guide, there's a just a few things to watch out for. On the Cards page I reduced the image sizes because even on my fairly large resolution (1440×900), the four round example was splitting the images between lines. We have to be careful to make sure things will display fairly well on smaller screens as well. I also had to remove some first-person verbage (saying "I" or "we"). The guides are written by multiple authors, so we just try to use a single third-person voice. Lastly, please don't upload any BMP images. Acceptable formats are PNG, JPEG and GIF. I reuploaded the ones you made (Image:FVIII Beginning deck.png and Image:FVIII Mysterious girl.png), and as you can see, they're much smaller which will help page load times. The Mysterious girl one went from 3.3 MB to 222 KB, which is 6.5% of the original file size, so you can see what a difference the format makes. Just some tips for the future. Keep up the good work! — najzereT 22:40, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
