Game play

The player can run and fire in eight directions. The player dies if he touches a robot, Evil Otto, gets shot, or touches a wall. The player can shoot every robot in the room for an extra bonus upon leaving, and he stands still when he fires.

Evil Otto appears after the player stays in the same room for a certain period of time. Evil Otto is invincible, he can not be destroyed. The robots get tougher as the player's score increases.

Controls

  • Joystick: Use the joystick to guide the player around the maze in any one of eight directions. Pressing the joystick in conjunction with the fire button controls which of eight directions the player will fire in.
  • Fire: Press or hold the fire button down with a joystick direction to fire. Pressing the fire button alone does nothing. Holding the fire button down prevents the player from running.
  • 1-2 Players: Press to start a one or two player game.

Characters

Player

This is the player, doomed to wander through each chamber of the maze firing at robots and avoiding disintegration. The player will die if he touches anything; robots, bullets, and the walls of the maze itself. The player can move and fire his gun in eight directions. His only goal is survival. The higher he scores, the harder it gets. When he exits from one direction in the maze, the entrance that he arrived in is closed off.

Robots

These mindless drones have only one intent, the destruction of the player. Their operation is so singular, that they will attempt to execute it at the risk of themselves and their fellow teammates. They walk into walls, and shoot one another if you get in their line of sight. They appear in a series of colors, which change upon reaching particular scores. Their color indicates what level of offensive power they have. The higher the level, the more bullets they can fire on the screen at any one time.

Score Color Bullets
0-260 Yellow 0
260-1,200 Red 1
1,200-3,000 Light Blue 2
3,000-4,500 Light Green 3
4,500-6,000 Purple 4
6,000-8,000 Yellow 5
8,000-10,000 White 1 fast shot (2x speed)
10,000-12,000 Light Blue Two fast shots

After 12,000, the cycle repeats itself until around 20,000 when the robots stay light blue forever.

Evil Otto

Evil Otto will appear from where the Humanoid entered the maze. The timing of Evil Otto's appearance is directly related to how many robots you start with. The fewer the robots, the sooner Evil Otto appears. Evil Otto cannot be destroyed, no matter how much you shoot at him. All you can do is run away. When you defeat all of the robots, Otto doubles his speed. Only destroy the last robot while Otto is present if you are extremely close to an exit.
