Deathmatch is a series of increasingly difficult battles against the CPU. You will need to complete these battles in order; if you win, you get promoted to a harder tier, but if you fail, you are set back to an easier tier. However, if you reach the Elite rank and win, as you cannot go any higher in ranking, you just get another win to your team's statistics. Do note that losing the Elite rank will cause you to drop back down to the SuperStar rank.
