:2nd request.  Next time you will be prevented from making redirects at all.  This is not helping us NR.  You're wasting your time, and hurting our search performance.  Restrict redirects to only those necessary.  No Japanese, no alt capitalizations.  The site's search engine should be upper case/lower case blind.  I'm also planning on going through the redirects and pruning many of the unnecessary ones, so this is only hurting my ability to get through them all.  <span style="color:red">Pro</span><span style="color:grey">cyon</span> 19:36, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

Just so you're aware, the redirects I create are usually to match names on other websites. For example, wikipedia calls it wp:Call of Duty: World at War – Final Fronts, so I set up the redirect here for Call of Duty: World at War – Final Fronts. These aren't good redirects by themselves, but they're useful to match wikipedia's names. -- Prod (talk) 02:42, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
:I don't believe redirects with disambiguations in the title are useful. No one will type Spiderman (arcade) into the address bar; and if they're searching, they can just go to the Spider-Man category. As above, whenever I create these redirects, they're because other sites use those titles, and it lets my bot find the matches. For example, when connecting to pcgw, wikidata, wikipedia or any of our partner wikis. -- Prod (talk) 23:02, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

Don't go with "Batman (1990)", either go with "Batman (Arcade)" or "Batman (Atari)".  Arcade is probably better than Atari, although it wasn't the only Batman arcade game, but it was the only one with just the title "Batman". == XA Walkthrough ==
Most of Xevious' waves of enemies are generated procedurally based on how aggressively you play.  The game adapts to you and sends more enemies at you the more you destroy the ones you've seen.  This means you might experience vastly different sets of enemies from one play through to the next.  I don't know if Xevious Arrangement is exactly like the original in this regard, but I suspect that it is.  So the extent to which you write about which enemies appear when is only valid for your personal playthrough, and may not at all be what other players experience, apart from the major bosses of the game.  <span style="color:red">Pro</span><span style="color:grey">cyon</span> 00:51, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
:I am aware of the fact that the appearance of certain air-based enemies in both the original Xevious and Super Xevious is determined by the player's skill, both from personal experience and their pages on The International Arcade Museum, but in Solvalou and Xevious 3D/G, it is the same every time you play (however, if a player destroys certain Sols and Zos after revealing them in 3D/G, it causes certain ground-based enemies to be replaced with tougher ones); it is also not my personal playthrough either, as I am using a trio of videos on the Japanese video-sharing site Nicovideo as a visual aid this time on account of how they show the locations of all the Sols, Zos and Rally-X Special Flags (and I would not want to spend ages trying to find where they all were myself). == "Final game in the series" ==
Hey there. I noticed while reading some of your guides that you will put something along the lines of "final game in the [game name] series" - specifically in Akkanvader, Galaga Arrangement and Xevious Arrangement where you put them as the final game in the Space Invaders, Galaxian and Xevious series. I don't understand the logic behind this, as there were plenty more games released after these games, especially considering that right below your walkthrough are navboxes listing several titles after these games. Can you please explain these edits? Namcokid47 (talk) 00:44, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
:Well, back in 2014, when I created the guides for the Space Invaders sequels (as a result of the unofficial third one from 1980, Space Invaders II, being a Midway game that utilised an Intel 8080 microprocessor), I genuinely believed that "Akkanvader" was the last one at the time; however, I saw a cabinet of the latest SI title Space Invaders Frenzy (2016) in real life last year, and when I researched it online, I also found out about the two that came between "Akkanvader" and it, Space Invaders: 25th Anniversary (2003) and Space Invaders: The Beat Attacker (2008). The same went for the Galaxian and Xevious series until I read your message, as the only series template I created that seems to be periodically updated by an anon is that of Danger Mouse - but I am now going to look up these post-"Arrangement" sequels and add them to their respective series' templates. ==Article walkthrough assistance==
Hey there. A while ago I wrote a walkthrough for Namco's Bubble Trouble: Golly! Ghost! 2, and was wondering if you could try cleaning up the article a bit? The game is now emulated in MAME and there was a YouTube video showing the game's electro-mechanical backdrop, which I used while making the walkthrough alongside my playthrough of the game in the emulator. Thanks. Namcokid47 (talk) 14:36, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
:Well, after I have finished the guide for Speed Racer (1995), one of the first Namco arcade games made by their American division, I will do my best; however, the QTQ Namco '70s~'80s Video Games Museum (2000-2018) did not have a page for it when it existed (just three broken screenshots and a single paragraph on it on the page for the original Golly! Ghost!), so I did not know what the names of its new characters (some of which were visible in the broken screenshots) were, which is why I could not write a Walkthrough myself after doing one for the original in 2013. Namcorules (talk) 16:31, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
::Thank you, I appreciate it. I got the names of the enemies and characters from my copy of Namco NG Magazine (August,8, 1992) - which has Bubble Trouble as the featured game - that lists the names for the characters. :When I originally created that particular category in 2015, GameFAQs' entry on The Flintstones: Bring Back Bedrock stated that they developed it, but the page now says that game was a development by its publisher company Ludia. :Both sub-games in this compilation (much like the ones in Bally Midway's Tri-Sports, the Arrangement games in Namco's Namco Classics Collection titles, New Hyper Man in SemiCom's XESS: The New Revolution and the 2002 version of Tetris in K1 Soft and HAN System's Puzzle King) have never been released separately as far as I can tell. ==File template==
Here is a skeleton for the File template to make it a little easier to use, should you like to start adding the information in that way yourself. It automatically adds necessary categories for the image type and the game it pertains to.
<pre></pre>
<pre></pre>
Hopefully this helps. Trig - 15:46, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
:Furthermore, usually when adding File to files, I tend to copypaste a lot of the template so I usually either just paste whatever summary was already written and apply it to all or I will create a more generalized summary so that File could apply to multiple files. It's not usually intentional if there are mistakes, but apologies for them. Trig - 14:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
::I understand; also, why did you reupload several GIF images, that I originally uploaded long before you joined the site, as PNGs yesterday? I am guessing it is because of the PNG format's smaller file size, along with the fact that it allows for transparency. == Rompers ==
You really shouldn't keep changing every little thing that someone else writes. It gets tiresome really quickly and frankly this sort of behavior is what drives people away from wikis. Wikis are supposed to allow anyone to contribute but when one person decides that they "own" articles, this defeats that goal. Looking at your talk page shows that you have a long and unfortunate history of doing this. Clearly you alone don't know everything about every Namco arcade game. You certainly didn't know about Rompers bonus scoring. Please take a step back and think about this. To be clear, some of your changes are useful but others are just petty stuff where you seemingly just want to own the articles.
:I am not going to argue with you about this, I am simply going to tell you: you changed a British English spelling ("utilise") to an American English one ("utilize"), and in the case of a regional spelling being changed, the original author's choice (which was mine) has precedence; I only learned this myself after an anonymous US user added "a better, easier, more understandable, accurate name for aubergine" to Pac-Man Arrangement/Walkthrough at 23:42 on 15th April 2012, and Moydow reverted it ten minutes later with the summary "aubergine is the UK English name for eggplant; in such conflicts, the original author's choice has precedence". See in this diff. Namcorules (talk) 15:00, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
::I changed it to country neutral phrasing, there is no need to change it again. You do not own these articles. Also, if you're responsible for sentencing such as the following then you are writing in an unnatural format and the technical info doesn't further the primary function of the StrategyWiki: "and the song that you had been hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 speeds up, along with the enemies" - the average person doesn't care about the specifics of the Namco System 1 hardware, they are looking for tips and info to help improve their game.
:The goal is to maintain consistency within a guide for regional variations of spellings. By sticking to the variation chosen by the original author, it maintains consistency within the guide. Changing regional spellings beyond restoring consistency is discouraged. Namcorules indeed has a long history on this site. To me, it looks like you have all been working together to improve the Rompers/Gameplay page in a true spirit of a wiki. Improved wording/grammar is greatly appreciated. No author "owns" the guide, but Namcorules is a registered and recognizable user, and has been maintaining the guides for a long time. -- Prod (talk) 22:32, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
::I had to debate whether or not I should weigh in on this, or just let Prod handle it.  In general, I have found that I'm better off just leaving you alone, but this episode highlights numerous issues that we've had with you in the past.  I have routinely considered whether it is worth asking you to leave the site.  It seems unfair to do, given the number of contributions you have made, but where Prod and I disagree is whether your participation is, on the whole, more positive or more negative.  My opinion is the latter category.
::Whenever I see edits occur on pages that you wrote, I know it will only be a matter of minutes before you start editing the page to touch, adjust, or rewrite whatever has been added.  I've seen genuine improvements to a page get completely undone by you simply because they don't align with your rigid conception of how a page is supposed to be formatted.  And I agree with the anon, it is very discouraging to see that.  I'm glad someone finally had the courage to say that out loud.  Had you only bothered to correct the UK/US spelling of certain words, it would not have been so egregious.  But here is someone trying very hard to help the site, and you keep stepping on their toes out of some misplaced sense of ownership or pride in the page.
::Meanwhile, you continue to:
::*Over do it with the Redirects, making the site's built in search functionality nearly useless,
::*Mention hardware information despite repeatedly being asked to stop because that is out of scope for the site,
::*Make very odd grammatical choices that make no sense, like your insistence on using the word "shall"
::But the worst offense, by far, is your writing style for walkthroughs, and the way you robotically describe everything that players will encounter through a stage, repeating phrases over and over again.  I'll be honest with you, I just recently had an experience where I decided to try Ordyne out.  I got up to Stage 6 where the boss rush begins, and I was struggling with it.  I wasn't sure if SW had a guide for Ordyne, so I looked it up, and sure enough, it was one written by you.  I went to 6 to try and get some help with the stage.  I started to read, and by the time I got to your second unnecessary reference to the YM-2151, I utterly lost any interest in continuing to read any further.  That page is over 11k bytes long... and it feels useless.  If anyone came to SW to get help with Ordyne, they would leave very disappointed.  We've actually seen tweets making fun of the writing style that appears in pages you've written.
::So... I don't know what the right answer is now.  I'm well aware that you have a disability, but I've given up hope that you will ever reflect upon any of the feedback we give you and attempt to improve how you write.  At the end of the day, Prod and I still differ on that one fundamental perspective: he feels you help more than you hurt, and I feel you hurt more than you help.  The question is, what are you willing to do to prove to me that Prod is right and I am wrong?  Because after 15 years of the same stuff over and over again, I'm convinced you're not going to improve.  <span style="color:red">Pro</span><span style="color:grey">cyon</span> 02:01, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
:::Procyon is right; I do indeed have Asperger's syndrome. Furthermore, the only reason I even signed up for this site at all is because I was a (day) student at a college which had extremely restrictive internet filters in 2006, and yesterday was the first time since Paul Young attacked me by turning quotes from a TV show into insults in 2015 where I really regretted making that decision when I was 16. So yes, maybe once I have converted the team lineups on the NS2, NB-1 and NS12-era World Stadiums' Gameplay pages to tables, created the guides to Super World Stadium '98, 2000 and 2001, expanded and created the front pages to all the remaining Taito SJ System games, and completed the guide to Kuri Kinton, it would be best for everyone if I just left - but it would take me until the end of this year at the earliest.
