The controller concept shown at E3 2005 resembled a boomerang, however at E3 2006 it was revealed that the final design was an evolution of the DualShock 2, with a central button (a la the [[Xbox 360]]'s) and tilt sensing added, named SixAxis. The rumble function of the DualShock 2 was removed from the new controller, although rumors have been circulating that a further redesign, including both rumble and tilt sensing, will soon be announced by Sony.
