The Morning Shift is the first eight levels of the game, comprising the Beginner skill level.

Short -n- Sweet

A basic level, with a single pad and a theme of a collection of hard candy.

The Beach

Another introductory level.

Skyscrapers

Five pads on the roofs of buildings of various heights.

Taxi Trainer

This level requires fairly tight maneuvering in a few places, and will usually require refueling. When you refuel, you only need to fill up to a half-way fuel tank, anything more is simply a waste.

Beanstalk

At first, along with the tall stalk, only one pad is present. Pairs of pods will slowly grow outward, creating additional pads. If you're very fast, you can pick up the passenger before the second and third pads finish growing, and complete the level very quickly.

Whether or not to speed past this stage is a matter of personal decision - whether you want to save time (or likewise want an easier stage), or whether to collect money (for a high score).

Taxi Pong

This is the first level with a moving obstacle: a ping-pong ball bounces from side to side along a table.

Ideally, you want to land before an approaching pong ball reaches the other paddle, as any later risks having too little time to react or dodge the ball.

Teleports

Several areas disconnected from each other. Touching the symbol within an area will teleport your taxi to a random area.

Puzzler

A grid of chambers with barriers that can be opened and closed. Touching the small dots will toggle various gates open or closed. Find the proper combinations of dots to gain access to cells (when you drop off a passenger, a few gates will randomly open or close).

The buttons specifically do the following:

  • Center left: Toggles left gate of 3, and both of 1.
  • Center right: Toggles upper gate of 4, both gates of 1.
  • Top right: Toggles lower gate of 1, upper gate of 2, and right gate of 5.
  • Top left: Toggles right gate of 4, lower gate of 5, and right gate of 3.
  • Center: Toggles Upper and right gates of 3, left gate of 2, and lower gate of 1
