The Beginning

When you load up the game and hit 'play' , you are immediately tasked with these 3 things:

  • Find out what happened to Stanley Sterling
  • What is VBA-024?
  • Try to research it with the command program on the computer

The game will be about learning these things, but it will mainly be about fixing the consequences of knowing them rather than working through the barriers to learn them.

Click your computer to zoom in, and press the big power button. You should 'LOG IN' as 'FILLOW' , or, the last log-in. Your computer will then start up, but you will get a warning. Apparently your device has made a fatal error? It will only take a few seconds to fix before you are really up and running. However, if you try to open any programs other than 'Notes' or 'Recycle Bin' it displays another Error message; you need to be connected to the Main Network. Open the Recycle Bin, you will find a deleted file, click on that. This will tell you where the password to the Main Network is. Right click to exit out of the computer.

Examine the clock on your desk, located to the right of your computer. Spin it around with your mouse, and you should find the code 'A5B2C7' on the back, bottom-left corner. Remember this code. Right click to exit, and enter the computer interface again. Go through MENU > SETTINGS > NETWORK CONNECTION to open up the Network Connection page. Enter in the code with the three drop-down menus. If you forgot, the code is 'A5B2C7' . When you're done, hit CONNECT. Yay! Now you're connected to the Main Network. Close that tab and open Command. It says you need a code to search for VBA-024. You can try typing it in, but it won't work. Close out of your PC and open the left-hand drawer. Read the User-Manual carefully (click it to interact) as I will be addressing this Manual several times throughout this walkthrough by these names: User-Manual, Vessel Blue Handbook, or Handbook.

The Handbook should inform you of the codes on Page 4: Command. Turns out you need to type in a/ or 1/ before your search. Open your computer. Type in 'a/VBA-024' letter for letter, and hit enter. It should open Vessel Blue's anomaly records. Open VBA-024.png first. This will trigger Jumpkin's Arrival.

Jumpkin Box's name will be shortened to just 'Jumpkin' in this walkthrough. I will go through his jumpscare mechanics spoiler-free.

You will want to check behind you about every 20 seconds, that's how often he shows up. His time does not restart or fluctuate based on how often you check, but he will not show up if you are actively looking, even if you have your flashlight off. He has two arrival places: he leans from the corners of the two hallways behind you, and he will alternate between the two. I'd say he takes about 5-10 seconds to jumpscare past the original 20 second time. He doesn't have any audio cues other than the ticking of the clock, which does go in real time, so you could hypothetically count to 20 to mark each time he shows up.

If you are actively looking for 20 or more seconds in his next arrival spot, he will only show up after you look away.
