Star Fox: Assault is the newest entry in the long-running Star Fox series of video games for Nintendo consoles. The game was released in North America on February 14, 2005 for the Nintendo GameCube. However, it was available for rental at Blockbuster Video stores starting on February 1 as a promotion. It is co-developed by Namco and returned to the series' space-combat roots after Star Fox Adventures.
