Moon Quasar is a fixed shooter arcade game that was released by Nichibutsu in 1980; it runs upon Namco's Galaxian hardware (a Zilog Z80 running at 3.072 MHz), and is an update for Moon Cresta, which was released earlier in the same year. The gameplay's identical to that of the original title but for the addition of a decreasing three-figure number in the bottom-right corner of the screen - this is the Moon Cresta's newly-added fuel gauge and after the second Cold Eye, Four-D and Atomic Pile waves, the text "REFUEL ROCKETS" will appear on the screen, as Moon Cresta's mothership flies into view from its left side. The Refueling sequences are akin to the Docking ones in reverse in that the current stage(s) of Moon Cresta are flying up towards its/their mothership, as opposed to down towards the next stage; also, if the last three figures of your score match your remaining fuel when the last remaining stage of Moon Cresta is destroyed, you shall be able to continue from that point with another Moon Cresta rocket, even if you have not reached the "replay" value of 60000 points.
