The first MSX level

To read more about Soukoban in general, please read the Soukoban category page. This page reflects every version of the game whose title is Soukoban, as well as Sprectrum Holobyte's western conversion of the game entitled Soko-ban. However, not every version depicted on this page is identical, as Soukoban as been released in several iterations since it's initial publishing in 1982.

Spectrum's conversions of the game for the Apple II, Commodore 64, and IBM-PC version are similar to ASCII's release of the game for the MSX. They all came out in 1984, but the Spectrum versions contain 50 "original" levels. In 1985, Sega published their own conversion of the original game for the Sega SG-1000. In 1989, Pony Canyon released it's updated version for the Game Boy which was partially based on Thinking Rabbit's Soukoban Perfect. It was released in the United States as Boxxle. In 1990, Riverhill Soft developed an updated conversion for the Sega Game Gear for Japan only.
