These translations are atrocious. I'm not confident enough in my Japanese to supply my own, but I can tell you with total certainty that many of these are *completely wrong*.
In fact, you can even see this without knowing any Japanese. Take a look at the latter two entries for the ferryman. Despite the Japanese text being 100% identical, the 'literal translation' shows two different texts.
Elsewhere on the internet it's confirmed that in Japanese, the ferryman says the same thing in both directions. And neither of them mention Belasco Marsh.
