Cell Phone Pictures

I wish to help out with the locations of warps and star coins when I get the chance. However, I'd like a ruling on whether I can use my cell phone for pictures (not the greatest quality, but it's what I got), and if a special page can be made. I think it would be too cluttered to be on just the front page. Wolfman2000 11:50, 27 June 2006 (PDT)

As it happens, I was thinking of making a fully fledged walkthrough for each course including secret paths, star coin locations and the like. I would say to start with creating pages called "New Super Mario Bros. Walkthrough: Index" and "New Super Mario Bros. Walkthrough: World 1" and then linking these pages with each other and the main page. As for cell phone images, go ahead. (Just make sure to put them in a category.) Someone will replace them with better images with time anyway. RovingRoflguy 1:53, 31 June 2006 (AEST)

Stub?

I been adding a whole host of stuff over the last 3 days and I now wonder: Is the article still a stub? It still needs cleanup (mostly due to me) and controller button images, but I think it has enough depth in it now. If anyone actually checks this, can they give opinions? Thanks. RovingRoflguy 4:04, 31 June 2006 (AEST)

Garrett's already converted the stub to a wip, which is great. I'd say the game name needs emboldening in the first paragraph (a la Wikipedia), and perhaps some sub-paging done. --DrBob (Talk) 11:21, 31 July 2006 (CDT)
He did? Well that's good. I was sick of seeing four templates at the top of the article. It looked really odd. Regardless, I just added some more to the opening paragraph and made The New Super Mario Bros. bold. Is that what you meant? Also, any idea where I can get some decent images of gameplay? (More to the point, images of Goombas, Koopas, Pipes and the like.) And, last question, as for the sub-paging, I was thinking about putting up placeholders for a walkthrough. I could, with time, almost finish the walkthrough on my own (I have finished the game, every level and most of the star coins/secret paths) but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to create a walkthrough with no images whatsoever. What do you think? RovingRoflguy 11:08, 31 June 2006 (AEST)
The lack of images wouldn't be a huge barrier, after all GameFAQs gets by without them even for systems that are easy to capture from. You can probably get some good shots of the enemies from promo screenshots, but beyond that you're probably out of luck. GarrettTalk 21:34, 31 July 2006 (CDT)
I suppose your right, but GameFAQs has ASC11 (or whatever) going for them, and here it looks out of place. Hmmm. I might get around to doing a walkthrough, but certainly not now, or tommorow. --RovingRoflguy 14:40, 1 August 2006 (AEST)

Work in progress

Well, I have just finished the Mario vs. Luigi section and added a placeholder for minigames and I was wondering... Once I am done with the list of minigames, will this thing still be considered a work in progress? Just wanted to know because (assuming no one else does it first) I am planning on making the list of minigames tommorow and I'm wondering if when I'm done I can remove the tag. --RovingRoflguy 14:44, 1 August 2006 (AEST)

If you're still adding new sections, it's a work in progress. If all sections are there and at least mostly finished, the wip tag could be removed. :-) --DrBob (Talk) 05:22, 2 August 2006 (CDT)

Control Images

Since the DS images are not yet complete (I'm not even sure if they've been started on) I was wondering if I should use the generic ones as placeholders. Then again, I don't even know how to insert images.... *sigh* to the sandbox I go. --RovingRoflguy 14:44, 1 August 2006 (AEST)

Leave it for now. If you put generic images in, you're only going to have to do the same work again when the DS images are complete. ;-) Regardless, you should be using the controller button templates to put button images in, and not using the images directly. --DrBob (Talk) 05:24, 2 August 2006 (CDT)

Enemy pattern changes

Would like to add a little something to the enemies section, Something which is apparent in the game is the enemies reaction to different beats in the music ( at a change in beat, goombas jump slightly and red/green goombas turn around for a split second). its worth including as it can cause you to lose a life if you are carelees around enemies. Anyone think its worth adding?

Yes. :-) --DrBob (Talk) 05:16, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

Videos

It would be good if we had links to videos. I added a life-glitch in the secret section and a link to a video showing it. Hopefully I would upload a new video that has better quality. It would be good if there were videos that showed the enemy in action (with the music so the player can react in time).--Emaj 19:31, 5 September 2006 (CDT)
