Ideally each damage type would have its own icon, but the game doesn't have these and at present only Dark Side and Light Side (KotORII only) are entirely separate (used mastery icons). Until such a time as other damage types have separate icons, the following convention applies:

Physical (Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing)
Damage types Icon
One Force Barrier
Two Improved Force Barrier
Three Master Force Barrier
Non-physical (Cold, Fire, Sonic and Electrical, Energy, Ion)
Damage types Icon
One Energy Resistance
Two Improved Energy Resistance
Three or more Master Energy Resistance

Reasoning that Force Barrier grants Damage Resistance vs physical damage types, and Energy Resistance grants it vs non-physical types (except Ion).

Since {{KotOR/NPC}} and {{KotORII/NPC}} combine Items and Abilities because items normally grant these abilities, to avoid confusion item icons shouldn't be used for Damage Immunity or Resistance. Using feat and Force power icons is a possibility, although I haven't found options for all damage types. It's possible there may be unused icons for damage types in the game files, otherwise the next best option might be uploading icons for armor upgrade items, since many of these grant Damage Immunity or Resistance but their icons aren't currently used:

Damage type Armor upgrade item
Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing Ballistic Shielding
Cold Environment Underlay
Fire Heat Shielding
Sonic Sound Dampening Overlay
Damage type Armor upgrade item
Electrical
Energy Energy Shielding
Ion

Other armor upgrade item icons could be used for Electrical and Ion. Ideally Bludgeoning and Slashing need separate icons, but there are only two items granting them separately in KotOR, each unique (and used by just one enemy), and two sets of gloves granting Damage Immunity vs Slashing in KotORII (not used by enemies, at least in base game).
