Sonic the Hedgehog 2/Sky Chase Zone

In this zone Sonic stands on the wings of a red plane that is piloted by Tails. Even though the zone is set entirely in the sky Sonic cannot fall to his death as Tails always has the plane positioned beneath him. However, Sonic must avoid three kinds of badnik; a red plane enemy who whizzes across the screen at varying speeds, a blue and black robot that drops mines occasionally from its base, and a bird that rides a turtle. The turtle occasionally spits a fireball but cannot hurt Sonic in any other way, and acts as a platform if the bird is defeated. Halfway through the zone, Wing Fortress Zone can be seen but not interacted with. There is only one act in this zone, no end of act bonus points, and no boss.
