Once Vanguard's fuel meter has been emptied, Maiheriko will rise into the air from its first launching pad and start moving forward of its own accord as it comes to three Bazookas that are firing missiles at it; once you've fired off enough bullets at each of these, to kill them, a Big Jet will come flying towards you from the top of the screen. Once you have fired enough bullets at it to kill it, four Concordes will come flying towards you - and once you have fired a bullet at each of them to kill them, you will come up to three more Bazookas that are firing missiles at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at each of them to kill them, eight more Concordes will come flying towards you; once you have fired a bullet at each of them to kill them, you will come to two more Bazookas that are firing missiles at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at both of these, to kill them, eight more Concordes will come flying towards you - and once you have fired a bullet at each of these to kill them, you will come to four Hyper Tanks on the ground below you (which cannot fire bullets up to you). Once you've dropped a bomb on each of them to kill them, twelve more Concordes will come flying towards you; once you have fired a bullet at each of them, to kill them, you will come to three Green Tanks on the ground below you (which, for a second time, cannot fire bullets up to you). Once you have dropped a bomb on each of them to kill them, Maiheriko will descend down to its first landing pad where Vanguard has reappeared next to it in its normal shot incarnation - and Vanguard's fuel meter will then be refilled (Maiheriko's rotor will also momentarily disappear here) before it starts again.
