Sega Meganet is an unsuccessful add-on to the Sega Mega Drive. It allowed players to download games from a subscription service using a phone line, similar in nature to the Sega Channel, as well as allowing online multiplayer in a select number of titles. It was initially planned for release in North America under the name Tele-Genesis, but this plan was quietly dropped after a cool reception in Japan.

Most Meganet titles were never seen outside Japan; many of the games were later released on the Sega CD in Japan as part of Sega Games Can Vol. 1 and Sega Games Can Vol. 2, while Fatal Labyrinth was released for the Sega Genesis in Europe and North America.

The Meganet service utilized its own library of titles, independent of the Genesis library. Most of these games never received a cartridge release; however, Columns, Flicky, Fatal Labyrinth, and Teddy Boy Blues each later saw cartridge versions. Several Meganet games would also later appear in the Game no Kanzume series, released for the Mega-CD exclusively in Japan. All of the Meganet games were available through the Sega Game Library, accessed through the Meganet modem.
