After you defeat Zoma in his Castle and escape to the Cave north of Ludatorm, exit the Cave and you will hear a rumble which tells you the hole to the World above closed: now you can only cast Return to the five towns in Alefgard. Not only this: with the death of Zoma the light returned to the dark Alefgard. Return to Ludatorm and get hailed as a hero there. Talk with the King and he will tell you what you already knew: The Hole to the World above has closed and the light has returned thanks to Zoma's Death. Then he gives you the title of the hero, Loto (Erdrick in the NES). The credits will then roll over the screen until the text "To be continued in Dragon Quest I-II" appears.

When you enter it you will probably get the feeling you know this dungeon, and you're right: this part is from Necrogond Cave, as well as every other level of the Bonus Dungeon is taken from other places. You will recognize a lot of places as you walk through the dungeon.

Beginners should be around level 60 or higher and also have good equipment. The problem on this boss is the time: to get a wish granted you need to beat him within '''35 rounds'''.

He has many devasting spells like Explodet that hits your party for over 100 HP damage. Not only that: he can also put your characters to sleep and can remove any buff just like Zoma. He has over 7,000 health points, so get prepared for a long battle and support up your party with Bikill, Barrier, Increase, etc. Lightning and Blazemost will hurt the dragon pretty bad for 200 HP damage each time. Don't forget to heal with two Sage's Stones or with HealUsAll. Note that it's probably better to equip your party with armor and/or shields that reduce breath damage and/or reduce magic damage. The light dress is a great option, but there are many others as well. In this fight it can be better to opt for slightly lower defense in order to have these improved resistances.

The Naughty Book changes your Personality to Lewd (Man)/Sexy (Woman). Reviving your Father brings your Father back to life and he will be in Aliahan by the Side of your Mother. Other than that nothing special happens. The best thing is obviously the Pachisi Track which will now be in the Well in Zipangu with many good things to grab.

Here are a few tips for beating him in 15 rounds:
Here are a few tips for beating him within 15 rounds:
* Try using HealUsAll to improve your per-turn healing efficiency. This allows sages or pilgrims to cast other spells like BlazeMost. Often it can be better to risk not healing right away, and let HealUsAll pick up the slack later, because it does everything all in one go. Whereas HealUs or sage's stones aren't very efficient due to the much lower hp per character per turn that they offer.

Often it can be better to risk not healing right away, and let HealUsAll pick up the slack later, because it does everything all in one go. Whereas HealUs or sage's stones aren't very efficient due to the much lower hp per character per turn that they offer. If you only have one starry bracelet (the double agility accessory), put it on your hero to increase the chances he'll take his turn before Divinegon does. This can mean the difference between an epic save with HealUsAll versus multiple dead party members.
* Keep count in your head of how many turns have gone by. Once you're at about turn 12, it probably makes sense to stop casting spells like HealUsAll, Revive, Bikill, Increase, or Barrier, and instead go all out with offensive spells like BlazeMost and Thordain. It's fine if one or two characters die in the last couple rounds.
* Top up each character's mana if necessary, by equipping the Goddess Ring right before Divinegon and walking around. This area doesn't have any enemy encounters but you'll still regenerate mana. This is especially important if it enables your hero to cast HealUsAll another couple of times.

* Keep a leaf of the world tree on your hero and/or fighter, that way they have the option of reviving a dead sage or pilgrim.

* In some cases it makes sense to skip healing a character that you'd otherwise heal in a normal fight, so that your party can do more damage instead. Take the risk that a character might die and then just revive them if needed. Often they'll luck out for a couple turns rather than dying right away, allowing everyone to get more damage in.

* If you're using a warrior, turn it into a fighter instead at the Shrine of Dhama, and level it back up. The fighter has a much higher chance for critical strikes, approximately equal to its level divided by 256. For example a level 50 fighter has about a 20% chance of critical, or about 1 in 5 hits, whereas all other character classes have a flat 1 in 64 chance. Don't equip the fighter with the wreck whip for this battle because anyone using a whip will not perform critical hits. The beast claw works great, and it's possible that the dragon claw is even slightly better due to the bonus damage against dragons. Put the wreck whip on your hero instead.

* Keeping your fighter in a Bikill/TwinHits state is more useful than also keeping your hero in that state, because the fighter will be attacking every single round, whereas the hero will sometimes be casting HealUsAll or Thordain. If Divinegon is being particularly wicked with many spell-negating icy pulses, it can be better to give up on casting Bikill on the hero, and instead spend the turns casting BlazeMost.
