Minecraft/Achievements
The game contains achievements that point player in the right direction. The current versions that are confirmed to have achievments are the PC/Mac/Linux version, and the Xbox 360 Edition version (Arcade & Disc).
Also, along with the in-game descriptions of the achievements, I will also put in literal descriptions if the In-game one is not exact.
PC/Mac/Linux Achievments: (current as of 1.7.9)
-Taking Inventory: In-game description - Press "<Inventory Button>" to open the Inventory
-Getting Wood: In-game description - Attack a tree until a block of wood pops out.
-Benchmarking: In-game description - Craft a Crafting Table with four blocks of planks, Literal description
- Craft a Crafting Table with four blocks of planks in the 2x2 area of crafting within your Inventory.
-Time to Farm!: In-game description - Use planks and sticks to make a hoe.
-The Lie: In-game description - Wheat, sugar, milk, and eggs! Literal description - Use Wheat, sugar, milk, and eggs to make a cake.
-Bake Bread: In-game description - Turn wheat into bread.
-Time to strike!:Use planks and stick to make a sword.
-Cow Tipper: In-game description - Harvest some leather, Literal description - Kill a cow and harvest leather from it, if it drops any
-Repopulation: In-game description - Breed two cows with wheat.
-When Pigs Fly: In-game description - Fly a pig off a cliff, Literal description - Ride a saddled Pig off a cliff, and have it die.
-Monster Hunter: In-game description - Attack and destroy a monster.
-Sniper Duel: In-game description - Kill a skeleton with an arrow for more than 50 meters (blocks).
-Time to Mine: In-game description - Use planks and sticks to make a pickaxe.
-Getting an Upgrade: In-game description - Construct a better pickaxe, Literal description - Make a pickaxe the same way you made one earlier, just replace the planks with stone.
-Hot Topic: In-game description - Construct a Furnace out of 8 (cobble)stone blocks.
-Delicious Fish: In-game description - Catch and cook fish!
-Acquire Hardware: In-game description - Smelt an Iron Ingot, Literal Description - Mine Iron Ore, then smelt it in a furnace to make an Iron Ingot.
-DIAMONDS!: In-game description - Acquire diamonds using your Iron tools, Literal Description - Mine Diamonds underground using an Iron Pickaxe.
-Diamonds to you!: In-game description - Throw diamonds at another player, Literal Description - On a LAN/Multiplayer server, press Q/Whatever you set as your "Drop" Button to throw a diamond you have collected at another player.
