The game was later released worldwide on the [[Nintendo DS]] with additional touch and voice features, as well as a new fifth episode, "[[Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney/Episode 5: Rise from the Ashes|Rise from the Ashes]]". The fifth episode contains features exclusive for the DS, that went on to be used in subsequent games of the series. The Game Boy Advance version was ported to [[Windows]] on [[December 23]], [[2005]] and to the [[Wii]] via the [[WiiWare]] service on [[December 15]], [[2009]]. Episode 5 was released separately through WiiWare on [[March 16]], [[2010]]. On [[December 21]], [[2009]] the first two episodes were released on the [[iPhone]] in Japan. Future released dates, for both a North American release of the first two episodes and the release of Episodes 3–5 for all regions, have yet to be announced.

The player controls Phoenix Wright, a rookie attorney, who takes on a number of different cases in order to defend his clients and ultimately find them Not Guilty. In order to find clients Not Guilty, the player investigates crime scenes, speaks to people involved in the case, and cross-examines witnesses.
