The main character of Star Ocean 3, Fayt is a seemingly-normal college student from Earth. His father, Robert Leingod, is a famous authority on Symbological Genetics [a highly controversial scientific field] and does much of his work on the orbital colony of Moonbase. Fayt is somewhat lazy when it comes to his college work and takes every opportunity during his vacation to Hyda IV, a famous resort planet, to ignore that work. He does this mostly by playing games. Specifically, combat simulation holographic games. In spite of this, however, Fayt is a loyal and honorable young man who will never abandon someone in need of help. When Hyda IV is attacked and Fayt is lost on an underdeveloped planet, the combat "games" prove themselves to have been good practice with his weapon of choice -- the sword.

Analysis
JP: (No Change)
Fayt is the main character of Star Ocean 3, though in the beginning, he is not well-rounded for the role. His physical techniques such as Blade of Fury and Side Kick (which has invincibility time) are good, but only hit a few times; the majority of his magic techniques are elemental enchantments. His main weakness is that he possesses very few MP-damaging attacks, making him inadequate for bosses with a shortage of MP.
Fayt sends a short stream of electricity in the general direction of his target. Wind-elemental.
*Deep Freeze (80 MP)
Later in the game, Fayt will acquire his Air Raid and Dimension Door battle skills. The Air Raid is a fast, multi-hit sword slash, comparable to many of Cliff and Nel's battle skills in terms of damage. Fayt's Dimension Door is the most useful area attack in the game. It has a large circular radius(making it great for crowd control), it stops the enemy's movement, it can cause paralysis, it can be held for multiple hits and its final hit is a powerful vanishing horizontal slash that does multiple times Fayt's normal attack damage.

Obtaining Ethereal Blast & Divine Blade
In the hands of an expert, Fayt is unstoppable. He has the highest natural defense rating in the game. It is possible to build him up (with the Divine Avenger or Levantine sword and 7x Boots of Prowess) to the point in which no enemy can damage him, including the super bosses Lenneth and Freya. (This dependent on which difficulty level you are playing on.)
As with all the most powerful techniques for your characters they can NOT be obtained by simply levelling up. You must travel (after beating Luther) to Kirlsa. If you've done your homework you know theres a secret tunnel that you can't get through called The Maze Of Tribulations. Theres around 8 levels to the maze and after each floor you gotta fight a boss. They are annoying but don't worry. Put Dimension Door on close for Fayt and get as close as possible then keep hold of the button for Dimension Door near the enemy to paralyze them. Search around and use the Ring of Disintegration to find the second best weapon in the game. On the bottom floor you enter a room with 2 locked doors and 4 or 5 open doors. Through the open doors there are weak sub bosses and boxes after beating them all, be prepared for a painstaking fight against an celestial character/boss. You need high levels becuase he's about 3 times worse than Luther. After beating him head to Gemity and to Sphere. YOU CAN GO THROUGH ALL THE FLOORS!!! This is where you get ultimate weapons by beating bosses like GREAT SHELBY (the torturer from airglyph at the start), and a more powerful CROSSELL, ENRAGED CROSSELL. After trashin a boss you got either huge XP or huge fol, AND you get yourself an ultimate weapon!!. you have to progress through the floors to obtain new abilities like ethereal blast and divine blade (the blade is in the Maze and the Blast is on a high level in Sphere). watch out for sooties, they look cute but they use explosion. You can also go to the Urssa Lava Temple for Heavens Blade for Adray. But still the ultimate techniques are probably missing from your arsenal. If they are head back to the Maze and remove every box, oh and get Puffy the inventor. She toasts everyone at compounding with Louisa Divina. Good Luck!! You'll need it.

Freya
As far as the storyline goes, Fayt is considered a formidable swordsman, though the game strongly hints that Cliff Fittir, Nel Zelpher, Albel Nox and Mirage Koas are much more talented fighters than he is. However, Fayt and his companions did defeat Albel in the game's canon storyline. It is possible that Fayt's fighting skills progressed significantly throughout the game.
Just to tell you that Matthew Hirst has defeated Freya over 20 times ¬¬ from Danny Butler

With the "Destruction" gene, Fayt possesses god-like powers. He was able to destroy a city-sized Vendeeni Starship by using a single Ethereal Blast. Later on, the Ethereal Blast can be acquired, and it is one of the most powerful battle skills in the game. With full control of his abilities, Fayt is quite possibly the most powerful human character in the Star Ocean Universe, including characters in Valkyrie Profile, Radiata Stories and the loosely connected Wolf Team games such as the Tales series.
