User Description

Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here: I accept this self nomination.
Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve StrategyWiki in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What sysop chores have you been helping with?
A: Everything under the sun -- IRC, Expanding the StrategyWiki:Guide, reverting vandalism, blocking problem users, deleting/undeleting pages, protecting pages, the list goes on and on.
2. Of your articles or contributions to StrategyWiki, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A: All the guides that I had a large part in writing (including the incomplete ones) I feel quite proud of (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Fire Emblem). Also, I wrote the admin guide and IRC pages of the StrategyWiki:Guide (and probably others, but those two I feel the best about). I also set up the Featured Guides system. Other things that are less obvious that I helped with are two extensions, the Calendar and Alexa Graph javascript, CSS fixes in the BlueCloud skin, and other backend configuration settings.
3. How do you anticipate helping StrategyWiki above and beyond your current responsibilities as a sysop?
A: With bureaucrat tools, I plan to help out with renaming users, promoting users to various groups (including the new "rollback" group that will be coming soon), and performing CheckUsers on problem users when required.
General comments
  • You may view the previous discussion here. Times have changed since then, so please be aware that most of the things presented there (including the reason I withdrew) may no longer be valid.

Please keep criticism constructive and polite.

Discussion

  • It's funny, Skizzerz's previous nomination came around at a time when a lot of other members had just gotten crat-ship, and there was a concern about over promoting, so we all seemed kind of hesitant at the time. I had forgotten all about this and when I asked Skizzerz if he was a crat yet, I was surprised that he wasn't, and strongly felt that he should be. It's overdue, SW would not be what it is today without Skizzerz's dedication. Procyon (Talk) 22:10, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

About RfB

Bureaucrats are administrators with the additional ability to make other users admins or bureaucrats, based on community decisions reached here. They can also set bot status on an account.

The process for bureaucrats is similar to that for adminship above; however the expectation for bureaucrat permissions is significantly higher than for admin, generally requiring a clearer consensus. Bureaucrats are expected to determine consensus in difficult cases and be ready to explain their decisions.

To nominate a user for Bureaucratship, simply create a new RfB page as you would for an RfA (using the template here, then add a link in the section below. New bureaucrats are recorded at StrategyWiki:Requests for permissions/Successful. Failed nominations are at StrategyWiki:Requests for permissions/Unsuccessful.
