==NOEDITSECION Theory==
I have a hunch that adding <nowiki>__NOEDITSECTION__</nowiki> to the top of pages actually helps against vandals, as they're very lazy in scrolling around. =P --[[User:Arrow|Arrow Windwhistler]] ([[User talk:Arrow|talk]]) 04:42, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

== Ad suppression ==
== Spam accounts ==

Hey, noticed your message to Skizzerz about the ads. I think this in your [[User:Arrow/BlueCloud.css|CSS page]] should get rid of 'em.
Hi Arrow!  Thanks very much for your help trying to block auto-generated accounts.  I just had one question: How are you determining whether an account is a spam account or not?  What I tend to do is look at the IP addresses for each new user, and if I catch one that has two or more accounts created in a recent period of time (a month or two), I flag the accounts.  But if they've only created one, my confidence isn't so high that they are spam because it's too hard to tell.  What method are you using, maybe it's better than mine?  Thanks! :OK, no problem, I appreciate the effort regardless. Yeah, I'm always afraid of false positively catching someone up in a sweep, that's why I look for multiple accounts from the same IP.  I added you to the Check Users group so you can use [[Special:CheckUser]].  It's a time consuming process but it can give you greater assurance that you're banning people who have no intention of contributing to the site.  I should talk with Prod about improving our captcha process again.  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 18:30, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for using Template:File on your recent uploads. I will ask that you do not add CC-BY SA to the files' license section as they are not eligible for fair use under creative commons. It will automatically be filled as fair use through the inclusion of "Icon" in type (see [[:File:CC2 Achievement PilotsLicense.jpg]]) through a more correct licensing. Thank you! ::I dunno then, bro. "bannerAdBox" and "towerAdBox" are the ids for the two ad divs from a page source I looked at, and it worked for me when I tested it in my BlueCloud.css. You could try using <tt>{display:none !important;}</tt> instead, although that wasn't necessary for me. I assume you used Ctrl+F5? Oh well, good luck, maybe Prod knows of a better way. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 20:56, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Hey, just a heads up – making multiple, rapid-fire edits is no longer a warnable offense. See {{t|consolidate}} for our new approach. == Concerns about your edits ==

I know you're trying to help with cleanup and whatnot, but I feel that some of what you're doing is counterproductive. These are some things that I think will help both of us and the wiki as a whole.
# Put "subst:" in the beginning of message templates (e.g. <tt><nowiki>{{</nowiki>subst:consolidate}}</tt>).
# Don't hide edit summaries unless they contain copyrighted material, offensive content or personal information, per [[SW:AG#Hiding/deleting information in page histories and logs|SW:AG]].
# Put cleanup tags ''above'' the {{t|Header Nav}}.
# Don't stub articles that have [[Super Smash Bros. Brawl/Stages|10+ sections]], all of which [[Final Fight 2/Characters|have content]].
# Only use {{t|wikify}} to signify that the page needs wiki markup.
# Make your edit summaries meaningful and descriptive.
In general, sticking a bunch of cleanup tags on a page isn't all that helpful, especially when they don't include a reason. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I do hope you take these points under advisement. Thanks, — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 17:50, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

== Centering images ==

It appears that |center now works in image tags (believe it was in 1.16 that it was fixed).  The code produced is pretty much the same as what you changed it to though. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 17:34, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

== 900px widths ==

We might actually be switching to an 800px fixed width in the future (replacing those 200px with additional functionality). Haven't figured out an exact timeline, but setting the width that large may not come out properly after. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 22:54, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Spam accounts[edit]

Thanks! Procyon 17:00, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

OK, no problem, I appreciate the effort regardless. Yeah, I'm always afraid of false positively catching someone up in a sweep, that's why I look for multiple accounts from the same IP. I added you to the Check Users group so you can use Special:CheckUser. It's a time consuming process but it can give you greater assurance that you're banning people who have no intention of contributing to the site. I should talk with Prod about improving our captcha process again. Procyon 18:30, 13 February 2020 (UTC)
I've undone this as CheckUser is a very powerful permission that needs to be properly approved first. -- Prod (talk) 18:31, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

For welcomes[edit]

It should work fine if you use {{subst:Welcome}}. Then it should properly insert people's names and everything. Procyon 15:02, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

Carrier Command 2 uploads[edit]

Thanks for using Template:File on your recent uploads. I will ask that you do not add CC-BY SA to the files' license section as they are not eligible for fair use under creative commons. It will automatically be filled as fair use through the inclusion of "Icon" in type (see File:CC2 Achievement PilotsLicense.jpg) through a more correct licensing. Thank you!
