Parser Functions
Fight Night Round 4 achievements
We (i.e. DrBob) have installed the parser functions found here, and have began to phase out the current functions that these parser functions replace (like qif). Unfortunately, this has caused a few problems. While most have been fixed, others haven't, and people are likely to notice it (like this, for example). If you know why this stuff is happening, or how to fix it, it would be very helpful. Thanks! --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 20:05, 10 March 2007 (CST)
The achievements and trophies for the game use different images and the Xbox 360 version has more achievements – wouldn't it be easier for a PlayStation 3 user to see his trophies in a separate table instead of mixed in with 360 ones and the wrong images on some of the PS3 ones? Also, the PS3 version images are now orphaned. I've been including a <tt>nowrap</tt> parameter in the table cell with the platinum trophy to prevent link breaks within the column, but the same issue is present with the gamerscore column as well. I think it would be a good idea to set the width on the gamerscore and trophy columns in the Achievements Header template to accommodate a three digit gamerscore and a platinum trophy, respectively. ==Compilations in home version comparisons==
Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City
Hi Garrett.  Feel free to completely ignore this, but I was generally under the practice of leaving compilation titles out of the home version comparisons pages.  I don't have a particular reason, I just figured it would cut down on the clutter, and the compilation versions strive to be as close to the arcade version that the guide is representing as possible.  Like I said, feel free to ignore this, it's just as suggestion.  Nice job with the Gauntlet Noteworthies though, that's cool.  Might wanna mention Dark Chambers for the Atari 800.  (It also had a very inferior Atari 2600 version.)
Hi there,

Importing Lists
I just saw you modified my Banner for my Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City guide. I want to know is this a strategy wiki norm or it's because my banner was too big? The problem is that it's pretty small on my screen resolution. Is there a way to make it bigger but still center ?
I've found some lists on Wikipedia to help add info for StrategyWiki:Guide completion, they should be OK as most pirated games wouldn't be notable enough (I think). ==RE: Neverwinter Nights quest presentation==
thank you very much

Yea I'm not done with the layout it still needs work.  Feel free to play with the template if you like.  I like the collapsing boxes over the invisi clues since it helps keep the page shorter and you only have to expand the current quest that your working on. --Argash 06:10, 24 April 2007 (CDT)

Completion on redirects
: The problem is that at the banner's original width it caused the page contents to be shunted below the infobox on lower screen resolutions (like this). It is for this reason that we try to keep banner widths on the main page within reasonable limits (which is why marquee was created). Not all images look good at this lower size, but the alternative is even worse. This is less of an issue for subpages because there are no infoboxes there to shove images out of the way. --Garrett (talk) 22:37, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

I think it artificially inflates the number. The only reason redirects have categories is so that it shows up when people are searching for their game by category.  Adding it to completion does not aid this. -- Prod (Talk) 12:24, 28 April 2007 (CDT)
:: Thank you for your reply. I understand why I need to shrink the width size. What is a good width size for an image? DJ K-Jtan 22:50, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban/Printable version deletion
Hi, I've marked BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban/Printable version for deletion and see you are the main contributor. Is this page necessary for any reason, or is it a holdover from Wikibooks or an earlier era of StrategyWiki? Just wanted to give you a heads up. Could you enable $wgAllowSlowParserFunctions? It would allow the main page to have an accurate (and automated) count of guides at completion stage 4 (see staff lounge and my talk page for reason/discussion). --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 19:08, 28 April 2007 (CDT)

DLC question
Using the Japanese tag in infobox?
I was under the impression DLC just went on the main guide. Is it based on how big they are? For instance, I would have added the DLC achievements and trophies for GTAIV to the GTAIV achievements and trophies page like we've done for other ones. Just wondering if there was a standard or if we take them on a case by case basis. Thanks, — <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 21:01, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:According to wikipedia it appears to be an expansion, not a DLC. -- Prod (Talk) 21:06, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
::The GTAIV episodes are major DLC, comparable to a PC expansion. They are even sold separately from the main game (as Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City). The Oblivion expansions are listed separately too (they are DLC for the consoles but retail for the PC). --Garrett (talk) 21:10, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:::What's the differentiation between a major DLC and a regular one (is there a label as such somewhere)? -- Prod (Talk) 21:21, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
::::Um, er, not really. "DLC" is a catch-all term for everything from Horse Armor to an entirely new game chapter. Figuring this out is a case-by-case deal for sure. As a general rule, if it's the sort of thing that on the PC would have traditionally been sold in stores it's expansion-level DLC; similarly, if the PC gets it as a retail expansion but the consoles just get it as DLC it counts as an expansion. --Garrett (talk) 22:57, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Garrett.  I just noticed the change you made to the Game Category involving Japanese characters.  Can you think of anyway that we could incorporate the Japanese tag in the infobox?  I can't at the moment, short of creating a page with the Japanese name that redirects to the original page, and for that kind of effort, it's not worth it.  I was just wondering if you could think of something smarter.  Procyon (Talk) 19:43, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

I noticed you added in controls for a vehicle on Mass Effect 2.  I'm almost to the end of the game now and I've yet to encounter a pilotable vehicle anywhere (though I know there is the Hammerhead, I don't believe it's out yet). Where do you encounter a controllable vehicle in the game?  If I can find it, I can figure out its controls and add them— TheTwantalk 21:49, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:There are no usable vehicles in the base game, so these will be for the Hammerhead DLC. They were listed in the PC version's control customisation section. The Xbox vehicle controls are logical guesses based on other control similarities and may not be correct. --Garrett (talk) 22:37, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Category:Subpages
Pokemon Platinum logo.png deletion
Hey Garrett! It's been a long time since I last edited (damned exams). :-( I was just spending tonight perusing what's been happening in my absence (I'll be back in just over a month), and I quite like the discussion which is happening. One thing I feel needs sorting is the name of Category:Subpages. It should be hyphenated, and this should be changed ASAP, before the category gets too popular (quite why I'm saying this for a category which is invisible and automatically assigned I don't know, but the thought's still there).
Hi, an image you've uploaded: :Image:Pokemon Platinum logo.png has been marked for deletion. Just wanted to notify you before deleting it. Thanks, <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 20:23, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh, and Template:Final Fantasy VII/Walkthrough Navigation needs footer-nav-ising. Echelon's desire for individual charm in guides is great, but it's a very bad idea to start making the navigation around guides/the site inconsistent. I'd appreciate it if you could raise this on community issues, because I'm pressed for time. Thanks. :-) I'll see you all in a month! --DrBob (Talk) 17:51, 17 May 2007 (CDT)
: Whoops. Forgot to mention: if anybody needs to contact me, drop me an e-mail with the "E-mail this user" link on my user page, because I unfortunately don't have the time to check StrategyWiki with any regularity until my exams are over. --DrBob (Talk) 17:52, 17 May 2007 (CDT)

Hi, I marked Monsters' Den: The Book of Dread/Badges for deletion, which I think is a scope issue that needs to be cleared up. ==Completions on redirects==
BS Zelda
Hi Garrett.  I understand what you're doing with the completion status on redirects, and in most cases, I agree.  But I noticed you took some of the redirects that I had to specific versions differences (like the ones in Berzerk), and in those cases, I would argue that they are not complete guides.  For example, I pointed Amok to Berzerk because Amok is similar to Berzerk, and until someone decides to write a seperate guide for Amok, Berzerk is a player's best reference.  So technically, Amok is not as stage 4 status.  On the other hand, alt names (like Tank Battalion for Battle City) do deserve the stage 4 statusSo... I know it's confusing :/  I just wanted to fill you in. ^_^; Procyon (Talk) 22:33, 19 May 2007 (CDT)

Pokemon mini games
Achievements Header double image column
Hi Garrett. I noticed that you added the list of Pokemon mini games to the Category. I wasn't sure if we were going to cover them or not. I have all of them (well, most of them as cartridges, even the Japanese ones, and the rest of them as ROMs). Do you have any of them?  Maybe we could work together on some of the guides.  Let me know :) Procyon (Talk) 09:20, 21 June 2007 (CDT)
Hi, I had an idea about games with very different achievement and trophy images (instead of just a couple): Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection#Achievements and trophies. This could be handled fairly easily in the template by switching out the cell width with an optional parameter. I like this layout a little better than floating the alt. images in the description cell, because they belong in the "picture" column and this way you don't have to decide which system's images get the main placement. I also like it better than a completely separate table as it avoids redundancy and page length. Let me know what you think. :) <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 16:38, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
