How do you become an administrator? I would like to be one too because you get to answer peoples questions and things like that, but I'm not sure if I'd make a very good one because I tend to go on Dog's Life and not much else. [[User:Melon247|Melon247]] 13:46, 14 July 2008 (CDT)

:Administrators are chosen based on the results of a staff vote, and are generally nominated for their overall contributions to the site such as article clean ups, corrections, and organization.  Any user is free to answer other user's questions, and in fact this is encouraged.  In other words, don't think that you need to become an Sysop to answer people's questions.  Answer people's questions and other staff members may recognize your potential to be Sysop. Welcome to StrategyWiki!

Hello Melon247! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- DrBob (talk) 14:33, 26 March 2008 (CDT)

Hi DrBob. You might have guessed that I like Dogs Life. Melon247 14:43, 26 March 2008 (CDT)
I'm glad you decided to join us, your Dog's Life information precedes you :P. -- Prod (Talk) 14:52, 26 March 2008 (CDT)
Is there a picture of all the buttons on a PS2 controller on this website?Melon247 04:05, 19 April 2008 (CDT)
What you probably want is Template:Psx. --DrBob (talk) 06:09, 19 April 2008 (CDT)

Local Dog Challenges

I want to create a subpage for the Dog's Life article about the Local dog challenges and how you do them, but the table of contents is closed to prevent editing, so where do i put a link to the page?

You can edit the table of Contents here--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 06:57, 2 April 2008 (CDT)

And also, i saw a new thing on the Dog's Life table of contents, it was the word appendices or something like that. What does it mean?

It's for anything that isn't part of the main walkthrough, and isn't basic information about the game. Essentially, anything that doesn't belong under "Getting Started" or "Walkthorugh". -- Prod (Talk) 11:04, 11 April 2008 (CDT)

Are there not that many users on Strategywiki or something because i see your name a lot, Prod. Melon247 14:27, 11 April 2008 (CDT)

We have a fair number, it's just that I'm an addic.... I like strategywiki a lot :D. -- Prod (Talk) 15:14, 11 April 2008 (CDT)

Hey, Prod it's a bit random, but what's your favourite game? You know mine, so i guess it's only fair. Melon247 13:53, 18 April 2008 (CDT)

Descent Freespace, though I haven't been able to play in a loong time. I'm a space flight sim fan :) -- Prod (Talk) 18:00, 19 April 2008 (CDT)

Dog's Life Table of Contents

It exists already here: Dog's Life/Table of Contents. I've added the red links that you had on the previous table of contents to it. If you have questions, feel free to ask me or someone else. I've went ahead and deleted the other articles. The table of contents has the existing information in the correct formatting. RobJ1981 14:22, 9 May 2008 (CDT)

Ice Age stuff

a) You need to set your time zone correctly under your preferences. Click "My preferences" in the header banner at the top, and then click on "Date and Time." If you're in Britain, and your actually in GMT, the offset should probably be 0 hours.

b) You should really learn how to find cover art for yourself. It's incredibly easy. Go to Amazon, or eBay, and look the game up. In a pinch, Google Images also works well. Optimal sizes are around 320px across, but that's just a guide line, not a rule. Procyon (Talk) 11:42, 31 May 2008 (CDT)

Awards

I heard that on Wikipedia you can get awards. I don't really know much about this cos I couldn't find the page about awards. Are there awards you can get on Strategiwiki? And if there are, how can you win them? Melon247

No, we don't really do that sort of thing here. We ask the people only contribute to the site because they enjoy doing so, not because there is some reward basis behind it. Procyon (Talk) 21:37, 31 May 2008 (CDT)

Ok, I only found out about the awards yesterday anyway. Melon247

5 star test?

What happens if you put a game through to the 5 star test thingy. I'm not sure what it's called. I just know that you have to have a completed guide to put through. Melon247 13:51, 7 July 2008 (CDT)

And also, how do you get pictures or coloured writing in your signature thingy?Melon247

If you're talking about a featured guide, you can nominate one here, and it gets voted on. Some guides are promoted, while others that aren't are given constructive criticism on how to help it reach the featured level. As for you signature, click the "My Preferences" link at the top of the page, and under "User Profile", put whatever you'd like to appear in your signature in the "Nickname" box in standard wiki markup, and make sure that you check the "Raw Signature" box below the Nickname.
