This won't be easy going through the game without knowing the basics. If you want to have an easy time through the game, you have to follow these things to have an effective battle team.

===Battle to the top===
The walkthrough for Xenoblade Chronicles is split up by chapter.
Learn how to use arts, chain attacks and having the right person for the right job.
 
===Levelling up===
Learn how to upgrade arts, change arts and link up your tree to have a better effective experience when working together.
 
===Affinity===
If you choose the right answers, the two people would more likely work together better than before. You can do it by finding hands icon and battling with chain attacks.
 
===Opening up locations===
Finding locations can be a pain but it's worth checking out where to go and what to avoid in your quest to find out where the Monado come from.
 
===Protagonists===
Shulk, Reyn, Fiora, Sharla, Melia and Riki. All have their own style of fighting and tastes. Experiment with them because you'll be using all characters depending on the requirements of the story. Also if you like, you can choose in-game Japanese language if you want to know what they sound like in the Japanese world.
 
===Side-quests===
It's worth doing every sidequests to help get much better when defeating bosses that are part of the main story. Certain sidequests may be simple but a lot more can be painful. Make sure to check out certain places on certain times to complete it for a reward.
 
===Rebuilding Colony 6===
The colony has been devastated by a Mechonis attack. It would be worth it to follow special requirements to find out how to bring it back to its former glory. It's no easy task but its worth bringing the colony back to life again.
