The final battle against the evil doctor takes place on an airship. His life bar is shorter than previous bosses, but his attacks are harder to avoid. Doctor Neo Cortex floats in the air in front of you and will try to hit you by shooting you with gushes of energy that you must avoid: the purple ones will come towards you in a straight line, while the blue ones will cross the screen sideways. Instead, you'll need to hit the green energy streams to throw them back and damage him. However, it is sometimes necessary to accumulate a greater amount of energy to damage Dr. Neo Cortex. When he has only one notch of life bar left, he will immediately fire a gush of green energy at you, which you can send back to defeat him. Doctor Neo Cortex will fall into the void and you can watch the game's ending. Congratulations!
