You've seen quite a lot of the world so far, but there are still a few area's left that you have yet to explore. The next one that you will want to visit is the Holy Land. There are actually two ways to reach the Holy Land. One is through the cave near the south east coast of Elysion Island. The other is through the cave in The Lost Forest to the left of Celeste Inn. It does not matter how you enter. All that matters is that you are fairly strong and are wearing good equipment.

The Holy Land is another location that sprawls over a very large area. However, most of the pathway through the land are fairly linear, with very few branches. As such, you'll be walking a long distance, but it's unlikely that you will become extremely lost. Bear in mind that many of the locations throughout the Holy Land appear similar to one another, so don't be surprised if you feel like you've already seen the same terrain somewhere else. There are a few hidden treasure chests, primarily hidden in areas the dead end, but very few of them contain powerful equipment.

You're close to the meadow when you find the sage.

The monsters that protect the Holy Land are naturally quite strong. There are giant eyeballs that run on two very tall legs, and there are powerful centaur knights. One enemy that you should be particularly aware of is a strange looking creature that transforms its appearance when you get close to it. These creatures are capable of cursing you with Old status, cutting your offensive power in half for a limited period of time. But the monster that can inflict the most damage on you is a purely red enemy with a white circle in the middle. Keep your eye on your health when you fight these.

The meadow is marked by a change in the ground color.

Your goal in the Holy Land is to reach the meadow where a powerful creature stands in possession of the ninth scroll. Depending on how you arrived, you may have a shorter or longer distance to travel in order to reach this meadow. If you can from Elysion Island, you must head to the west until you can't go west anymore and are forced to travel south. Then you must continue to travel south as far as you can. If you arrive from the Lost Forest, you must travel north for a bit until you can progress further to the west. If you hit a dead end going north, you went too far. Come back down until you can travel west again. Once you reach a branch leading north and south, head south.

From both directions, you will find a sage sitting in a corner of the terrain. Talk with him, and he will give you a password. He will also serve as your starting point if you need to continue. From the sage, you should head west, south, west, and north. Follow this path and you should notice a change in the color of the ground. It will go from the darker green to a lighter color. Continue making your way to the meadow to reach your destination.

Meadow[edit]

Find the boss near the middle of the meadow.

Compared to the path you took to reach the meadow, the meadow itself is very wide open, with very little terrain to interrupt it except along the boarders. You will continue to face the same enemies in the meadow that you faced on the way over. There are many treasure chests that you can see, and they are unlocked. A majority of them contain potions, which may be helpful during the upcoming battle.

However, there are three hidden chests in particular that you should seek out. One chest in the upper right corner of the meadow contains a Large Shield, and another chest in the upper left corner contains Breastplate armor. Directly south of the boss that you are about to encounter is another hidden chest, occupying the opposite side of some mountains. This chest will contain the second strongest powerful race-specific weapon for your character. Be sure to seek these treasures out and equip them before proceeding to the boss that you must face near the center of the meadow.

The boss looks like a red orange centaur that stands motionless near the middle of the meadow, a bit more to the left of center. When you walk up to him, talk to him and he will challenge you to a duel. Press A button to accept his challenge. Despite the introduction, fighting this boss is no different than fighting any other creature. Simply stand next to him and attack him. Watch out for his attack, and be sure to heal yourself whenever you take a significant amount of damage. If you defeat him before he defeats you, you will earn the ninth scroll, as well as advance to the next level.

The lake[edit]

Look for this path that leads to the lake.

If you manage to find and purchase the fairy from one of the inns in The Desert of Mystery, you may recall the fairy telling you about a lake in the Holy Land. North of the meadow is a sandy path that leads right into a body of water, which you can simply walk into if you like. From the entrance to the lake, another sage can be found down and to the right. The fairy gave you an Ocarina to use when you reach the lake. Use it and the fairy will appear. She will ask you to follow her.

Follow the fairy to this location.

The fairy will appear on the screen and lead you to the west to a location in the lake. When you reach the right spot, she will fly around in a circle. Approach the area she flies above, and you will find a hidden treasure chest. In that chest is the Crystal Ball. (The chest will be locked if you find it before calling upon the fairy.) Whenever you use the ball, and elemental spirit is summoned. This spirit will follow you around for a limited period of time, and attack any enemies that it runs into.

Before you're ready to go, check the upper right corner of the lake (on the other side of the terrain from where you collected the Crystal Ball) for a hidden treasure chest containing a Jet potion. Jet potions will restore your health and magic as well as cure most status ailments. Then feel free to use the Fairy Wings to return to Elysion Castle, or walk back if you want to earn more experience points fighting monsters.
