On your first turn, you will be forced to talk to Serra with Lyn. This will add Serra and Erk to your team, giving you your first magic units. There are two ways to complete this map. You can go through the mountains in the centre though your movement will be reduced, or you can go around the mountains but it will take longer to get to the boss. Either way, this is quite an easy mission. The boss doesn't move, so you may want to weaken him with Wil and give the exp to another unit, eg Erk.
You may want to buy a Javelin from the Armory. It's quite useful for chapter seven.
