:I've avoided linking steam directly since I'd rather leave it to users to figure out how to procure their games, without promoting a specific storefront. Steam is the largest online game store, and is generally just a search away, so I don't think the additional effort from editors would help users as much. One thing I've been considering is linking to archive.org's archives of some of the very old games that are much harder to find these days, which are playable online ([https://archive.org/details/msdos_Super_Solvers_Treasure_Mountain_1990 example]). They currently link to almost 3k of our guides, so it wouldn't be too hard to have a bot connect those up.
