Article Name Change[edit]

Shouldn't this be renamed to Sid Meier's Civilization IV, just like Civ III and all of Sid Meier's games? --Combatd 23:46, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

As long as the full title is on the main page and readers aren't confused, it's not a big deal. Since it was already created as Civilization IV, there's no reason to change it. But, the proper use is debatable. The phrase "Sid Meier's" is a common tag, similar to something like "Sid Meier presents: ". It's used more for advertising than labeling (the MicroProse and Firaxis guys probably don't call it Sid Meier's Civilization IV at work...). If you look at titles that have been tagged with that, they don't actually make it part of the name or logo. Also, I could look at game like Pirates! and say it should be called "Sid Meier's Pirates! Live the Life" or looking at Civilization, I could say it should be called "Sid Meier's Civilization: Build An Empire To Stand The Test Of Time". --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 07:13, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Oddly the Civ III article was renamed to include "Sid Meier" in the title. --Combatd 06:17, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Understand that it's not a big deal. If someone pushes for the change, then it will probably happen. Since both names redirect to the same article, people looking for it will find it, regardless of what it is titled. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 06:23, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
