New page[edit]

What is User: Danr14/Clasty? We have a guide for GoonZu Online, and it has a Getting Started page, which is what Clasty seems to be. The page you made wasn't in the right place, since it's not a game. The page should be a subpage of a game like Game Name/Clasty. In the future, if you want to work on a page, you can do it in your userspace, which is where I've moved it. Let me know the purpose of the page and which game it belongs to so I can help you move it or integrate it into an existing page. Thanks, - najzereT 22:32, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I see you're still working on this page in your userspace. I just wanted to let you know that you can't replace an existing page with one you've created, if that is your intent. Also, by not moving the page to the guide where it belongs, you're defeating the purpose of collaborating on a wiki by restricting access. It's much better to work in the guidespace, as people will be able to help you and it reduces the duplication of effort if someone is adding the same information to a different page. - najzereT 17:42, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

My intention isn't to replace the page by any means, I'm compiling information into a wiki format so that I can easily modify and improve the official guide page when I finish. I just find it easier to put all my ducks (edits? :) ) in a row before I make any changes others can see. I've also not provided sources for any of my information yet. So when it is complete, I plan on going to the official article, and see if anything might needed to be added. This article is just for personal use, I know it might sound counter-intuitive considering this is a Wiki project, but I just find it better to think if I have my own personal space to play around with first. I've just gotten back from Vacation, and plan on completing this page within a week, at which point I will remove it, and make any edits to the official guide if I believe anything is missing. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. This method seems to be creating additional work for yourself, which is why I brought it up. Just to let you know, we don't require or expect any sources for your information, unless it is speculation on unreleased content. A notable exception is if you are using someone else's work, in which case you can attribute your source in an edit summary, provided the content has been released under a compatible license. - najzereT 18:00, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
