Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Emw7199! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or chat with other users, visit the IRC channel, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. When making an edit you can use the preview button below the editing box to verify your change before it is saved. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- Sigma 7 16:42, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Preload buttons[edit]

Here's what the buttons look like.

Hi, please use the preload buttons located above the edit text box when creating a new page. These buttons will insert the needed templates and formatting for you, which helps keep uniformity across the wiki. — Sigma 7 16:42, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Image uploads[edit]

Please see our policy on image naming and categorization. In the future, your image names should contain the name of the game or its abbreviation and a one or two word description. All images also need to have the appropriate categories added, as well as the guide-specific image category (i.e. [[Category:The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening images]]). --najzereT 17:39, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks you for putting the game abbreviation in the file you uploaded, but we still need to have categories in there as well. Here's is an example of what the categories should look like in the Summary field when you upload: WL2 O Blade.png. Take a look at our image categories and use the appropriate one for the type of image you're uploading (common ones are Characters, Items, Screenshots and sometimes Icons). Thanks! — najzereT 20:00, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, this is your third and final warning about image uploads. Proper naming and categorization is mandatory if you want to add images to the wiki. Failure to follow the simple rules for uploading images will result in temporary blocks. Hopefully it won't come to that, so just put the name of the game at the beginning of the file name when you upload and include relevant image categories in the Summary field. See the images on Bugdom/Items for examples of how to name and categorize images. You can reread the tips given here on your talk page, look at the image policy, or ask me if you have any questions. Thanks for helping to keep our images organized. — najzereT 18:01, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Since four months have passed since you last violated this, I will give you another final warning. The next time you upload an image that has been improperly named, and fail to tag it to be renamed (we all make mistakes, but learning to recognize them is something we urge you to do), you will be temporarily banned. I am "threatening you" in the most respectful way. We do not wish to remove your privileges, but improper contributions create unnecessary work for others. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 05:41, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Dude, why is it so hard for you to remember our policies for uploading images? Your contributions to SW are appreciated, but seriously, you're one of the only users we have to remind over and over again. Your latest offense are the New Super Mario Bros. mushroom platform images. You didn't name with properly and you didn't include any categories. We seriously do not want to block you from editing, but you don't seem to care about the work you're creating for everyone else when you ignore these policies. Are they really that difficult for you? Come on! Procyon 13:51, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Two hour block[edit]

Hi, you've been blocked from editing for two hours for incorrectly uploading File:Bugdom green gate.gif and [[:Image:Bugdom green key.gif]] (improperly named with no image categories). It is likely this block won't interfere with your editing at all, but it is the first step down the road of increasing block lengths which I hope you'll avoid. You've been given ample notices leading up to this block, but so far you have neither modified your methods nor responded to any posts on your talk page. In the absence of any change of behavior or acknowledgement of the notices being left for you, the blocks will continue. If you have any questions please ask here or on my talk page. Thanks, — najzereT 19:47, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Six hour block[edit]

You have been denied access to StrategyWiki for six hours for incorrectly uploading File:Bugdom Exit Log.png (originally uploaded as File:Exit Log.png). You forgot to include the game's name and correct categories. You also forgot to add categories to File:Bugdom Save Icons.png. Please take this time to review the comments made on this talk page. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:00, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Three day block[edit]

Now you're blocked for three days. After I wrote to you and asked you to please pay attention to the image upload policy, you just plain ignored everything I said, and went ahead and uploaded [[:File:Travelshroom.PNG]] without proper game identification or categories. Procyon 01:20, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Unused files[edit]

The following files were deleted, as they were unused, and in many cases, improperly uploaded (wrongly named/categorised, etc.).

  • [[:File:Bounceshroom.PNG]]
  • [[:File:Bugdom Green Toad House.gif]]
  • [[:File:Bugdom Red Toad House.gif]]
  • [[:File:Bugdom Starred Toad House.gif]]
  • [[:File:Highenshroom.PNG]]
  • [[:File:Lowerenshroom.PNG]]
  • [[:File:Swayshroom.PNG]]
  • [[:File:Tiltshroom.PNG]]
  • [[:File:Travelshroom.PNG]]

If you would like these files to be restored, or copies e-mailed to you, please leave a message here or on my talk page. Please remember to upload images properly in future, as any you upload incorrectly will be deleted immediately. Moydow T · C 04:08, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
