Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Goldenpython! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Testing[edit]

Your test edit on Mario Kart 64/Characters worked and has been reverted. If you wish to test out the system and wiki markup, please use the sandbox instead. Thanks for understanding! — Procyon 15:28, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Procyon i sent you a message on ESRB ratings. And i guess i did mess up on donkey kong, but i had the game, and i always threw bananas down in front of DK. --Goldenpython 15:30, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
All you have to do is edit the page and look at what I did. Or look at the Recent Changes list and click on the "diff" link to look at the changes that I made to the page. We're happy to answer questions, but you can learn a lot by examining the pages yourself to understand how other users accomplish different effects. To answer your specific question, we have a ESRB Template which you use simply by typing {{ESRB|E}} for example, if the game is E for Everybody. Just replace the E with a different rating where appropriate. As for the Mario Kart 64 Characters page, the information you provided was not well written or helpful; the banana makes every character spin out, not just Donkey Kong. Furthermore, asking for help in the manner that you're doing will not get the kinds of results you are looking for. If someone wanted to work on the Dead Island guide, they would. If no one is working on it, that's because no one is interested in it. The game isn't even out, there is nothing to say about it at this moment. If you would like help working on a guide, it would be far more useful to find people that you know, and invite them to join the site to help you work on it. Procyon 15:36, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the help, but i dont understand. --Goldenpython 15:47, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
What part don't you understand? Procyon 17:01, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Again, in order to properly use the ESRB Template, all you have to do is type {{ESRB|E}} (if the game is E for Everybody. If it's T for Teen, just replace the E with a T). It's very simple. Don't forget the double braces. Procyon 15:11, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Have a look at the guide completion stages in the user guide. Procyon 17:19, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Here's some cleanup that was done to one of the pages you created: http://strategywiki.org/w/index.php?title=All-Star_Baseball_2002&diff=567445&oldid=566381. You can look at it for examples of how to improve your edits. -- Prod (Talk) 01:02, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Relax[edit]

GP, you're worried too much. No one is going to ban you for forgetting things, or trying your best. There's no reason for you to leave if you like contributing. We don't really need new front pages though. What we could really use is information, walkthroughs, and strategies for the guides we already have. Try to focus on looking at the games we already have and filling in missing information if you know anything about those games. Or pick a game that you know a lot about, and work on creating a full guide for it. Make new front pages doesn't help us because another user will come looking for information about a game, and they won't find anything useful that they would like to know. Help us build up the guides that we've already started. Thanks. Procyon 21:18, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Ok Procyon, I will try and work on already made video games, Sorry my last one was for Barf and Beer but you can delete it thanks Pro. --Goldenpython 21:21, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
I've had to clean up like ten pages, and I must admit I'm getting a bit tired of it. Can you please bring the following pages up to our standards? Dead Island, A Vampyre Story, Hail to the Chimp, Brink, Genso Suikoden I&II, Toy Story Mania!. Our goal is to help people beat video games, and we are lacking guide information for a lot of them. But creating dead end game stubs doesn't help anyone as they can usually find better information from wikipedia. -- Prod (Talk) 19:48, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
