Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Jammi568! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- Rocky (talk · Contribs) 17:01, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII[edit]

Hey, you need to get your organization down before you start creating pages so we don't have to keep moving and deleting pages. A good way to get everything set is to use the Table of Contents. There you can add all the pages and create the page hierarchy, without actually creating pages. When it's all set, we can use those red links to start creating pages. Also, please don't create any guide pages in the main namespace. That's reserved for the main pages of guides. When you want to create another page for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, you'd start it at Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII/Shinra Electric Power Company not just Shinra Electric Power Company. Thanks, - najzere 22:03, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Ahh, sorry about that. I know I should have looked at the instructions first, but I'm a member of several other Wiki's, and so figured that it would be a similar thing to do. Jammi568 22:06, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

As you may have noticed, I've converted the training missions into a table and put them on the same page along with the section headers for the other sets of missions in the category. If you believe it should be split up again, let me know. However, it seems like there are going to be a lot of those pages create (300 missions!) so some consolidation might make it easier to navigate. Let me know what you think. -- Prod (Talk) 08:06, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Use the "Guide page" button above the edit text box when creating new pages and it will automatically insert the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} templates for you. Thanks, - najzere 21:31, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Testing[edit]

Your test edit on Final Fantasy X-2/Enemies worked and has been reverted. If you wish to test out the system and wiki markup, please use the sandbox instead. --najzere 22:27, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Show preview[edit]

Hi, can you try and make one consolidated edit to a page rather than a series of tiny ones please? You can use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save page" button to see how your changes will look. This will reduce the amount of traffic in Recent Changes and keep the page's history cleaner. Thanks! - najzere 23:26, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Certainly will do from now on!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jammi568 (talkcontribs) .

When making a new page for a guide, use the "Guide page" button above the edit text box, and it will insert the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} templates for you. Also, you don't need to put __TOC__ into pages; they're created automatically if there are more than three ==Headings== on a page. I'm not sure what you're doing with Final Fantasy X/Equipment, but I'll give a you little time to straighten it out. That would have been a good time to use the Show preview button, btw. =P - najzere 00:03, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm trying to make it as easy as possible to edit, so it doesn't look confusing on the editing page. Plus, what kind of guide doesn't have an equipment list for the game's characters? Jammi568 00:07, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean by looking confusing on the editing page. You should be concerned with how it's looking on the actual page. I wasn't saying I don't understand the purpose of an Equipment page, but rather the state in which you had left it. You just need to take a few minutes and read through the Guide and the links in your welcome message to learn how to lay out pages. I can't stress enough the importance of using the Show preview button; if I had come across your page without having already been watching your edits, I probably would have just deleted it. You can use Show preview once to check that everything is good, or you can use it for hours if you need to. The bottom line is when you click "Save page," the finished should product should adhere to our policies and guidelines on layout. - najzere 00:19, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Attribution[edit]

If you are going to take content verbatim from another source you must ensure their license is compatible with ours and that you properly attribute their work. I have added links in the KH Worlds talk page to the pages in the Kingdom Hearts Wiki from which you took them. If the other sections were taken from another source (Agrabah, Halloween Town, Neverland or Hollow Bastion), please go and add their link after making sure we can even use their content. The same goes for any other pages you have added to the guide, such as the Story page. Our license works because people can freely transfer information, but everyone must get their proper credit. - najzere 00:43, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

I see you've added links to where you got the text for Agrabah, Neverland, and End of the World, but in this case it's not enough to post a link back, because it is copyrighted material. In this case, you need the express permission of the author to release his work under our license. You can email him and ask, but if there is no response or he says no, we can't use his work. - najzere 08:25, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
If you can, put the attribution in the edit histories rather than the talk page (ie. the edit summary). Histories are supposed to be kept with the page, whereas the talk page is sometimes dropped. -- Prod (Talk) 07:35, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Updating links[edit]

Make sure you update links if you move pages or move links on the Table of Contents. It messes up other pages' navigation otherwise. Thanks, - najzere 20:44, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Image uploading[edit]

See the page on image naming and categorization for details on how to add categories to images. You can see changes I made to the Dusk image here. Thanks, - najzere 18:35, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

The category you just created (Revenant Wings images) needs to be moved to [[Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings images]]. I will go ahead and do this for you. I just wanted you to know before you uploaded any more images with the old category. Also, whenever you create image categories for a specific game, please put Category:Guide-specific images at the bottom. Thanks and keep up the excellent work!--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 17:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
One more thing real quick. The characters category is actually [[Category:Characters]]. There shouldn't be an apostrophe there.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 17:32, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Dissidia summons[edit]

Hey, I see you've created all the summons as links to separate pages on the summons page. I really hope that's not necessary, as adding 40 more links to the Table of Contents will make it a real mess. Is there really so much information about a summon that you can't put them all on one page? - najzereT 16:49, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
