Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Slipknot Darkrai! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Moydow T · C 19:27, 4 December 2010 (CST)

Sysop[edit]

I noticed your message on Procyon's discussion page about getting sysop privileges. Sysop is given to users who have had some experience with the site and know our policies well. From the edits I've seen so far, you still have a fair bit to learn. Please do learn some of the policies and conventions around the site, and once we feel you know your way around, we'll gladly give you the additional permissions. -- Prod (Talk) 13:48, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

To back up what Prod had to say, we do require users to have a good deal of experience with the site before they can be considered for administrative privileges. Anyone can say they would be a great help, but only a few people actually demonstrate it. If you are truly sincere about wanting to help, I highly recommend that you get better acquainted with our user guide, and/or (preferably and) take a good look at out featured guides to understand how they are set up and what makes them stand out. Establishing front pages with nothing more than a partial infobox isn't really helping us too much. It would be far better if you could include an introductory paragraph or two (we actually typically use a good deal of information from Wikipedia for front pages with some heavy editing), learn how to link the info in the infoboxes to their respective pages, properly categorize the page, and at the very least, get some box art up for the game or something. I know this is a lot to chew on, but if you're serious about your desire to help, these are just a few tips to help you get started. Good luck. Procyon 18:53, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
Please read what I wrote to you. I asked you to read the guide and become familiar with it. If you do that, you will have a better idea of how you can be more helpful. Then if you demonstrate to us that you can be helpful for a consistent period of time (a couple of months at least), we will nominate your for sysop status. Be aware, this is a community-driven vote, so if some users do not feel you've been helpful, they will not support your nomination. Procyon 19:03, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Our policies, rules, and procedures are fairly different from wikia. They break things up into much smaller communities, while we have only one large one. To attract new users, we try to make sure we keep a consistent and polished layout. Sysops are the ones who help maintain that, so they should know a lot about how the site functions. If you have any questions, or anything is unclear, you can check click the chat link at the top and there's usually someone in there. Or just leave a message on one of the sysop's talk pages. -- Prod (Talk) 20:53, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Image categorisation[edit]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. [[Category:Game Name images]]. Please see our image policy for more details. Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! — Procyon 19:41, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

If you had read the guide, you would have known this... Procyon 19:41, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
My 2 cents worth, give Slipnot a break... Ur being to hard on people on this website since sysops being idk something is right? --Wildthanghart24 21:42, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
Sure you looked through the guide properly? You just uploaded File:ConkerPocketTales.jpg with no categories. --Moydow T · C 19:50, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Spam comments[edit]

I'm not sure what your intentions are on this site, but if you think you're going to be considered for adminship based on your current behavior, you are sadly mistaken. Procyon 21:18, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Trying to message people and rickroll them is not the best way to promote a positive impression. -- Prod (Talk) 22:47, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Just because you think Rick Rolling someone is fun does not mean that I do. I'm 35 years old, personally I find that kind of stuff childish. You're welcome to contribute to the site, and hopefully you will have fun and enjoy the experience. But please recognize that not every user on the site will share your sense of humor, and please respect the fact that other members of this community may have different values or perspectives from your own.
