Try to become familiar with the different sounds that different ground surfaces make.  Concrete sounds different than carpet (i.e. Weapons Cache).  Dirt sounds different than wood (i.e. Insurgent Camp).  By noticing these differences you can more accurately pinpoint where an OPFOR might be.  In Weapons Cache, for instance, the sound of feet on carpet almost certainly means that the OPFOR is somewhere on the second floor.  Combined with directional sound, this method allows you to determine where the OPFOR is with considerable accuracy.
