Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Saisen/Kenshin Himura

Kenshin Himura (緋村 剣心) is a former government assassin, known for his cold disposition and willingness to kill. However, he eventually gave up the legendary title of Hitokiri Battousai in order to better himself and the lives of others as a form of atonement for the many lives he took. Despite the rumors about his past, Kenshin is actually quite lighthearted, and has a somewhat feminine appearance due to his slender figure and youthful face. These qualities often lead others to mistake him as a typical wandering samurai, right down to his meeting and subsequent rescue of Kaoru at the start of his story.

Kenshin is an extremely powerful swordsman with seemingly unrivaled skills, practicing the ancient Hiten Mitsurugi-ryuu sword style. His speed is well above average and he has many strong techniques at his disposal. However, due to his vow not to kill, he wields a sakabatou (reverse blade sword) in battle. His weapon prevents Kenshin from reaching his full potential, making his Battousai counterpart all the more powerful. Fortunately enough, Kenshin's speedy maneuvers make up for his lack in strength.
