Tiles are hidden under ground targets, and must usually be revealed with Missiles. Other Armors such as Fire or Thunder have the ability to reveal the tiles which are hidden beneath ground targets. In order to collect a tile, you must simply fly the Syd over the tile. Below is a list of every available tile as well as their effects.

Positive tiles

ASO Bonus.png Bonus
  • Gives 500 to 8000 bonus points.
ASO Speed.png Speed
  • Collect three to increase movement speed by one tier. Three tiers (default, second, and third).
  • If at max speed, all new Speed tiles will be Speed Down tiles.
ASO Keep Blue.png Keep Speed
  • Current Speed rating doesn't reset to the lowest Speed after death.
ASO Laser.png Laser
  • Collect three to increase laser power by one tier. Three tiers (default, second, and third).
  • If at max laser level, all new Laser tiles will be Laser Down tiles.
ASO Keep Yellow.png Keep Laser
  • Current Laser power rating doesn't reset to the lowest Laser power after death.
ASO Missile.png Missile
  • Collect three to increase missiles by one tier. Four tiers (default, second, third, and fourth).
  • If at max missile level, all new Missile tiles will be Missile Down tiles.
ASO Keep Red.png Keep Missile
  • Current Missile rating doesn't reset to the a single missile after death.
ASO Voltage.png Voltage
  • Increase max energy storage by one (16 by default; 24 max).
ASO Flash.png Flash
  • Destroys and reveals all hidden tiles on the screen or for several screens ahead.
ASO Energy Blue.png Blue Energy
  • Increase energy store by 1 unit.
ASO Energy Yellow.png Yellow Energy
  • Increase energy store by 4 units.
  • If any armor is active, all Yellow Energy tiles turn into Blue Energy tiles.
ASO Energy Red.png Red Energy
  • Increase energy store by 8 units.
  • If any armor is active, all Red Energy tiles turn into Blue Energy tiles.
ASO Warp.png Warp
  • Moves ahead through the stage fast with no enemy interference.
  • Tiles available to collect.
ASO Player-up.png Player-up
  • Earn an extra life.
  • Extremely rare!

Negative tiles

ASO Speed Down.png Speed Down
  • Each decreases movement speed by one tier.
ASO Laser Down.png Laser Down
  • Decreases laser power by one tier.
ASO Missile Down.png Missile Down
  • Decreases missile tier by one.
ASO Energy Down.png Energy Down
  • Energy store reduced by 4 units.
ASO Reverse.png Reverse
  • Moves backward though the stage faster speed than the Warp tile.
  • No collectible tiles.
ASO Cancel.png Cancel
  • Lose all energy.
  • Loses any collected Keep tiles and parts.
