This is the list of villagers that can move in or out of your town. You can have up to ten villagers in your town; once your tenth villager moves in, villagers will start to move out. Villagers will let you know when they are moving, however, if you talk to them frequently and send letters to them, they won't move.

==Tom Nook==
Tom Nook is the raccoon who sells you your house and [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/House Expansion|its expansions]] and runs Nook's Cranny, the local general store. Here you can buy tools, plants, stationary, floors and wallpapers, medicine, and assorted furniture. Additionally, Nook offers a catalog where previously or currently owned items can be ordered, and a points system where [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Collectibles|special items]] can be obtained. When certain conditions are met, Nook's store will expand and include a wider variety of items.

==Able Sisters==
Hedgehog sisters Mabel and Sable run the Able Sisters, the local clothing store. Besides buying outfits and accessories, you can also make designs which can be placed on floors, walls, and clothes. PRO Designs are also new to City Folk, in which separate designs may be placed on the front, back, and sleeves of a shirt. Talking to Sable each day will eventually get her to open up and talk more about herself. Here you may find out more about the third Able sister, a certain hedgehog who has moved her work to [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/The City|the city]].
==Museum==
Three animals can be found in the museum: Blathers on the ground floor, Celeste in the Observatory, and Brewster down in the Roost. Donate [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Fish|fish]], [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Fossils|fossils]], [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Insects|insects]], and [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Paintings|paintings]] to Blathers, connect stars to make constellations which can be seen in the night sky in the Observatory, and drink a 200 Bell-cup of coffee in the Roost. Drink coffee for seven days and Brewster will then open up [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Gyroids|gyroid]] storage. Come by on Saturday night and [[Animal Crossing: City Folk/Special Visitors#K.K. Slider|K.K. Slider]] will perform.
