This mission is extremely challenging. While Bunkers with Tank Hunters can be useful against Tank rushes of any kind and take down aircraft, they are unable to deter alpha strikes from MiGs (which can heavily damage them) and can be distracted by infantry. The Gattling Cannons can cover this weakness, but they require a fair bit of setup.

It is necessary to quickly turn your upgraded Overlords into your core defensive units, backed up by Speaker Towers to quickly heal them while they get lambasted by everything the Tank General can throw at them.
Overlords are absolutely necessary for early-game defense, backed up by Speaker Towers or other Overlords mounted with them for healing to withstand the Tank General's onslaughts. Fortunately, unless an equivalent is up and running, he won't build his Superweapon, which gives plenty of time to plan ahead.

Emperor Overlords will be your greatest threat and can ruin an otherwise solid defense.  Use your individual General’s Powers -- Cluster Mines, Carpet Bombing, Artillery Barrage and EMP Pulse -- to individually derail these threats.

Emperors will be your greatest threat and can ruin an otherwise solid defense. Do whatever it takes to derail them. Later on, however, they become far easier to deal with if ECM Tanks tag along to paralyze them at range.

Basic Start:  Build a Reactor, extra bulldozer, Barracks and Supply Center.

Important: Build two extra Supply Trucks. Super quick buildup is key. Later in the game you'll have to start producing Hackers so you could keep pumping out units as the relentless onslaught of armor denies all attempts of getting supplies elsewhere.

Build Red Guards and set them on there way towards the oil rigs in the far south east corner. If they succeed in capturing the Oil Derricks, they will pull in an extra $3000 before the Tank General destroys them. Depending on circumstances, this may or may not be necessary.

* You can build Bunkers and fill them with Tank Hunters if you don't feel like using Overlords this early, but they'll have to be there sooner or later.

* Use two MIGs to help back up your Overlords when Emperors attack and then for air defense.
* There won't be enough space to build Air Fields initially.

Station the first Overlord very slightly east of your base.  Station the second Overlord at the northwest corner of your base.  Hopefully your base is somewhat compact and not too many vehicles will have to be chased in the middle, northeast part of your base.

Almost immediately you will have the funds to build Speaker Towers behind both of your Overlords to provide reliable healing. Make sure there is room within these Speaker Towers to place an Air Field, and purchase the Subliminal Messaging upgrade to increase their effectiveness further.

Temporarily bring both tanks to the east to handle one onslaught of troops, then rush one of the tanks back to the northwest to again protect that area of the base.

Next build an Air Field and two MiG Fighters.  They don’t pack that much punch, but they ''might'' keep the Emperors from attacking as soon.

Build another Overlord upgraded with a Gattling Cannon and station it at the northeast corner of your base.  Back it up with a Speaker Tower.

There is no easy way to fight them off the assaulting Emperors.  Go back to your previous save if you lose the battle.  Use your General’s Powers to Carpet Bomb them, Cluster Mine them, Artillery Barrage them, attack them with your air units and, of course, your Overlords.  Once you get the right combination, all three of your Overlords can survive this attack.
Depending on the intensity of the Emperor onslaughts, it may be necessary to reload or use General's Powers.

But there will be no rest.  Immediately the air assault picks up. Overlords will do fine for the first few times until you could construct at least two Gattling Cannons on the ground.

Start producing hackers before you totally run out of supplies and an Internet Center to house eight of them. Even more is achievable as the jets won't be able to reach them in the back, and Overlords will fight off any vehicles that dare approach.

Upgrade to Chain Guns at the War Factory as soon as possible.  This will make both your Overlords much more powerful.

If you haven’t already, purchase the Radar at the Command Center to help locate the enemy’s Nuclear Missile.

When your Nuclear Missile is ready to launch, be sure your Artillery Barrage is upgraded to level three and fire them both.

Actually, it is possible to destroy the Nuclear Missile with the Carpet Bomber and Artillery Barrage.  If you destroy it in this manner, you can destroy the Propaganda Center with your Nuclear Missile to slow down the production of Emperor Tanks. There is a side benefit to this.  The bulldozer may be sidetracked to build the Propaganda Center instead of the Nuclear Missile and the Nuclear Missile may not be rebuilt again on this mission!

It is highly recommended to upgrade your MiGs with Tactical Nukes. While this does lend way to friendly fire, these jets become far more destructive, and may even destroy an Emperor Overlord in a single, well-placed hit.

Offensive Operations:
Upgrade to Chain Guns at the War Factory as soon as possible.  This will provide a damage boost to Gattling Cannons and increase their overall effectiveness.

From here on out, your base is fairly secureDouble up your defenses with Overlords, with your choice of upgrades.
Purchase the Radar at the Command Center to help locate the enemy’s Nuclear Missile when and if it does pop up. An expansion base may be necessary to construct multiple Nuclear Missiles.

When your Nuclear Missile is ready to launch, be sure your Artillery Barrage is upgraded to level three and fire them both. If the Nuke Bomber is used in place of the Nuclear Missile, the latter can instead be used to destroy the Propaganda Center to stop the Tank General from producing Emperors for a while. If more Nuclear Missiles are built, they can be used to to single-handedly wipe out the entire base.

Start building additional Overlords and Nuclear Missiles to assist in your offensive operations.

Once you send your Overlords, you will want a large number of Gattling Tanks to escort them to help protect them from air assaults because their own Gattling Cannons aren't enough. Nuke Cannons and ECMs are optional, but both prove to be helpful when they're needed. Strike the base to the right, so if the Tank General ever tries rebuilding his Nuclear Missile or one of his Air Fields they can be promptly destroyed.

The Tank General's base is poorly defended. While impenetrable to aircraft, the Bunkers and any tanks at the base will be their only hope against an armored assault because Gattlings are ineffective against Overlords. A Nuke Cannon can engage Bunkers from afar with Nuclear Shells to wipe out any stationed Tank Hunters, while Neutron Shells are able to stop groups of tanks dead in their tracks since it kills their crew.
From here on out, the offense is in full gear.

It is not necessary to destroy Speaker Towers, Bunkers and Gattling Cannons for the Tank General to surrender. Focus on taking out his production structures, Power Plants, Supply Center and Propaganda Center.
A ground assault is initially daunting. Most entrances are guarded by Bunkers (filled with Tank Hunters) and Gattling Cannons, not to mention the Tank General will often have hordes of vehicles waiting inside. Gattling Tanks will be needed to fend off the MiGs. Nuke Cannons and ECMs are optional, but both prove to be helpful when they're needed. ECM Tanks can scramble MiG/Tank Hunter missiles while Nuke Cannons with Neutron Shells can wipe out the Tank Hunters and empty large groups of enemy vehicles. If needed, build some Nuclear Missiles to soften up his base by destroying his Command Centers and any Construction Dozers, then take down his War Factories/Air Fields/Barracks to cripple his offense.  After that, finish off any Nuclear Reactors, Supply Centers and Propaganda Center.

Mission accomplished!
