Killer Instinct is a revival of the franchise, released in 2013, this game only had 6 characters at launch, but now has 29 characters, the game is easier to learn than the older games, but keeps all the mind games.
Double Helix, the devs for the first season was bought by Amazon, and production had to go over to Iron Galaxy, Mick Gorden also dropped off by the end of season 2, and the soundtrack went to Atlus Plug and Ceildwelder. (whose name I probably butchered hard)
