ShadowCaster is a first-person role-playing game developed by Raven Software and published by Origin Systems in 1993 for MS-DOS. It was developed between the releases of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, and the features of its unique engine reflect that in its gameplay.

The game follows Kirt, a young man who recently learns from his grandfather that he is a shapeshifter from another dimension. The two of them are the last of their kind from a war fought long ago, but it seems their adversaries have returned to finish what they started. Kirt is quickly transported to his homeworld in order to discover his true abilities and destroy his enemies once and for all.

Two versions of the game were released - the original (eight floppy discs), and an CD version, which featured an additional two levels, a few new enemies, and a remade intro and ending cutscenes with voice-acting.
