Welcome to StrategyWiki!

Hello YoshiSoy! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Procyon 20:18, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Image placement suggestion

Hi YoshiSoy. I just wanted to bring your attention to some changes that I made, specifically this change and this change. I moved the images closer to the sections they correspond to. If you like the design, I encourage you to continue adding images to each page in the same manner. If you don't like it, feel free to roll it back, or just continue adding galleries as you have been. Thanks for all your hard work. Procyon 21:32, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

No problem, always happy to help out. That's why I like the wiki format so much. Plus, the thumbnail images are bigger than the gallery images, so you can see more of your beautiful screenshots. Let me know if I can help in any other way. Procyon 21:38, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Your questions

Hi YoshiSoy. To answer your questions, we don't have a strong position on 2nd vs. 3rd person, and we leave it up to authors preference as long as it's clear who you are talking about. So you can say, "you should jump on to the block," or you can say, "have Mario jump on to the block," and either is perfectly acceptable (and I've been known to absent mindedly switch back and forth in the same guide...) Lol, the cookie thing is kind of a joke, it's not a serious thing. It's sort of a tongue-in-cheek way of encouraging people to contribute. However, we do offer contributor recognition prizes, usually a free game, towards the end of the year for outstanding editors. As for the uploads, I'm not sure, I'll have to test it out myself and see if I have the same problem. It may be something temporary. Do you get any kind of error message, or does it just time out? If you experience continued problems, leave a note on Prod's discussion page, he's the site's tech admin. Let me know if you have any more questions. Procyon 00:01, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

It's possible that you may be bumping up against our image filesize limit. I personally love PNGs for screenshots, but naturally JPGs have much better compression. Try saving some as JPGs and see if it makes a huge difference in the quality of the images. If it doesn't, you may want to consider using that format, as it would be helping us out too (the image database is already gigantic and growing steadily.) Procyon 00:31, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
